A local eSim, or embedded SIM, is a type of eSIM card that is embedded into a device, such as a smartphone or tablet, at the time of manufacture. Like all eSIMs, local eSIMs allow for cellular connectivity without the need for a physical SIM card.

The main difference between local eSIMs and remote eSIMs is that local eSIMs are embedded into the device during production and cannot be changed or removed, while remote eSIMs can be downloaded over-the-air to a device and can be changed or removed at any time.

Local eSIMs are activated and managed through software, making it easy for users to switch between mobile networks and plans without needing to physically swap SIM cards. This can be especially useful for travelers who want to avoid the hassle and expense of purchasing a new SIM card every time they visit a new country.

It's important to note that not all devices support local eSIMs, so it's important to check your device's specifications before attempting to use one.
