I have been seeing some yorubas protesting that Yoruba jobs must be for Yoruba people. Such open display of bigotry has not been witnessed in Nigeria since the end of the civil war.

Before beating the drums, have these people done their research to know exactly the percentage of jobs or employment opportunities owned by yorubas?

If this primitive sentiments gain traction, Lagos will decline drastically. All the oil companies that are based in Lagos do not earn a Kobo in Lagos, all their earnings come from Niger Delta yet they billions of naira as tax to Lagos. They also employ yorubas from their Lagos headquarters and deploy them to Niger Delta. I have not seen Niger Delta states crying about their jobs and taxes lost yet those that are benefiting from the unjust system are shedding crocodile tears!

The Aworis and Eguns must wake up now or watch helplessly as Lagos declines in the coming years. It's really funny how someone will come from other states to Lagos and begin to accuse other Nigerians that also came to Lagos as usurpers.

One of the reasons why Lagos has remained very viable is because the real indigenous people of the state are accommodating. The moment Lagos becomes toxic as these people are gradually making it, Lagos will decline. If oil companies are forced to leave Lagos and Igbo/other Nigerian businesses leave too, what will remain of Lagos?

That you share language similarities with the indigenes doesn't make you an indigene of Lagos. Igbos also share language similarities with indigenes of P.H, that doesn't mean an Igbo man from Anambra or Imo will go there and begin to drag the city with Ikwere people.

Nigeria as a nation won't even survive it if these people promoting all these primitive bigotry aren't stopped.
