ABUNDANT LIFE VISION
ACCEPT ME Mark 7:24-30
Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre. He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret. [25]Right away a woman who had heard about him came and fell at his feet. Her little girl was possessed by an evil spirit, [26]and she begged him to cast out the demon from her daughter.Since she was a Gentile, born in Syrian Phoenicia, [27]Jesus told her, “First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews. It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” [28]She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.” [29]“Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.” [30]And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone. NLT.

What do you do when you need something and you are not qualified to receive it? If you are desperate enough, you will beg for it. It is the case of the woman in our text this morning, Jesus in his earthly ministry was sent to the Jews, his death, resurrection, and ascension to heaven will make the Good News and its benefits available to all men (Jesus died for all) buy as far as his ministry on earth was concerned, he was sent to minister to the Jews.

The woman in our text today did not meet the requirement and Jesus rejected her plea but the rejection did not deter her from pleading her case to God. The response to her resilience is that Jesus answered her. After all, Jesus went about doing good to everyone irrespective of the scope of his ministry in regards to the people he met. Acts of the Apostles 10:32: Now send messengers to Joppa, and summon a man named Simon Peter. He is staying in the home of Simon, a tanner who lives near the seashore.’ NLT.

The message to us today is a challenge to us to always approach Jesus with a humble heart in our shortcomings and approach him to accept us. The woman simply told Jesus to accept her as she was and Jesus did that. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying we should tell God to accept us as we are by not turning away from sin if that is our problem with God. I am saying we should not run away from God because he is the only one that can save us. Accept me is the heart posture of a man that will not justify his action but rely on God as the only one that can fix him.
Therefore, if you have not cried to him before to accept you, here is an opportunity to do so because according to him, he will not cast you away. John 6:37: However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. NLT. If you are ready to come to him, say this prayer wholeheartedly; Dear Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and you resurrected on the third day by the power of God, please forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life and I will serve you forever. Amen. If you have recited the prayer, I congratulate you and I urge you to join a bible believing church as you begin your journey in Christ.

God bless you.
