Being a graduate is not a thing to be so proud of in Nigeria any more cos of the dubiousness of our politicians. Ph.D holders are lamenting. Master Degree holders are complaining. It's now a war of who knows who (man know man or who you Sabi). Some graduates go home at the end of the month with less than 100K with so many responsibilities.
They don't want to improve the economy, education, power sector, security sector & other areas. They want to keep borrowing and looting the treasury.
Nigeria is like a Time bomb.

When you claim "THEY" and "THEY" in your comment blaming "THEY" for not fixing your economy, and not giving you Jobs

Please Who are the "ThEY"

In many Countries, Graduates create SMEs, Startups , Inovative business out of the knowledge they aquired

Small startups created by Graduates employs unskilled labour, they use Loans facility from banks to create ventures

A lot of Graduates are self-employed. In what way(s) is the government encouraging them?

In Obio/Akpor in Rivers State for instance, Thursdays sanitation officers will come and milk you.
OSPAC will come with their monthly levy.
Obio/Akpor will come with their yearly renewals.
Another wing of Obio/Akpor will still come for their yearly 'MakeShift shop payment' yearly.
PHCN will come for their monthly stuffs.
And many more.
You feel the government is doing well to support SMEs in Nigeria?

The ones that are self-employed, is the government helping SMEs?

What pains me most is that most graduates can't express themselves publicly.. Guy, na only certificate they can't defend dem carry.. Engage them in meaningful convo and you will know they have nothing in their brains.

..

First the "THEY" called Government are not alien they are our own brothers and sisters

Wike is a former LGA chairman in Obiakpor and was massively voted to represent his people so Wike isn't "They" he is one of you that you selected to lead you

Let me tell you what many people who scream saner climes won't tell you...

In US if you call 911 emergency and get an Ambulance you will pay exorbitant fees as high as $2000 to $10,000 or they charge your insurance

In UK 28% of your Income is automatically taxes .. that's you paying 30k out of 100k salary you earn

In both US and UK Power and Water bill plus a month rent of a tiny room will cost you #300,000 if you don't pay be ready to sleep on the cold street

All am saying is the Government won't save anyone especially Graduates

Even if you get civil service Job they can't pay you more than 100k.

Graduates must create ideas to generate income to run the economy

You are going too far with "meaningful Convo". Engage them on related topics to their course of study, then you will be shocked. What have you really learned? I mean, even Facebook posts will give you migraine. Graduates that still can't differentiate between "their" and "there", "being" and "been", "I'm" and "Am" etc.

they will still have the guts to blame lecturers for not teaching them the basis in any subject, something they should have known while in secondary school classes... Most of them don't even know they can use their smartphones for learning educational and non-educational articles..

Knowledge acquisition was suppose to position one for impact or higher level of skill and not necessarily office jobs or fat salary.
Nowadays, it is even used to launder Ogboni money by sending victims to school and claiming the voodoo money has been well spent. Knowledge acquisition has been bastardized to irreparable extent in this part of the globe.

Education has stiffen the thinking of most literate folks. They believe education has condemned them to a life in an office.wearing suit and tie, with AC and official car.

Most of them use their smartphones for learning during chats only, to correct their spellings and make suggestions.
