Yesterday was really a Sunday indeed. Alright, lemme share to you a little about this fantastic Sunday.😹😹 My elder sister decided she was going to take us out in the afternoon, you know, to have a good time and stuff. At first we didn’t even know where to go because where we reside, there are less eye catching places like that. (By eye catching places I mean places to have good and fun time). So when it was time to go well (her kids and my friend) carry ourself inside the car and we were set to an unknown destination. “Where are we going now?” This was me asking my sister. “I’m thinking of checking Kiddies Park since this children won’t let me rest. Kiddies Park has been their theme song since this morning.” I was already fuming when I heard Kiddies Park. What am I? A seven year old? What’s my business with Kiddies Park? I see no reason why I should go there sha. I was still angry that we were going to kiddies park but on sighting the park, I became so excited that I almost shouted. The park was so filled up. It was as if half of China population was in the park. There was no parking space at all. Different cars con full everywhere both Kekenapep and Venza with other cars. I immediately told my sister to let’s find another place to go. She couldn’t even argue with me because she was not ready to be looking for a child without tribal mark. We then zoomed off. That was how Kiddies park was out of the picture o. We then drive to the Mall and that was okay by me. I was satisfied. Now, that’s an adult thing. When we got to the Mall, it was as if there was one big festival. The large crowd that was there was so amazing and terrifying. If one is not careful you’d think a terrible accident had occurred. What baffled me was the entrance of the Mall. It was as if they were doing giveaways to the people there. In fact the Mall was locked from inside. The security guards prevented people from entering any further. The crowd was just too much. Mall con turn to Bank and ATM stands wey people dey queue to collect cash or to seek for customer’s service. We eventually have to leave the Mall again o. We just jejely (gently) carry the car and face the direction to our house. No be by force to have nice time and even the afternoon sun wasn’t friendly. It was just roasting somebody skin like roasted corn. That’s how messed up yesterday’s Sunday was.

The mall is not somewhere to go to have a "nice time" unless you are going to a cinema within the mall. You go there, shop and go home. Nigerians however seem to see visiting malls as some kind of status symbol, and that is why malls are usually crowded during festivities. |
