UK Prime minister decided to strengthen the relationship between the two countries by reaching out to the president elect.
It is just normal that when a country have a new leader, other countries that have a r/ship with the first country will always want to maintain that relationship.

Wonder where the cable manufactured the letter from as I have looked around and no other news source carried the news. They also failed to provide a scanned copy of the letter signed by the PM.

When the same UK condensed the electoral process, we all so the signed copy of the letter which was also posted on the social media platforms.
