Press Briefing: 2023 Second Session Of The 7th Synod In Diocese Of Okrika, Church Of Nigeria Anglican Communion - His Lordship, Bishop Enoch Atuboyedia JP calls on the church to focus more on prayers. - Diocese of Okrika commenced housing scheme for clergymen and staff. Dez Mayorz News His Lordship, Rt. Revd Enoch Atuboyedia JP, the bishop of Okrika Diocese, Church Of Nigerian Angelican Communication, and president of the Synod had called on the Church to focus more on prayers for the church and the country. This he said at the press briefing for the coming ‘2nd Session Of The 7th Synod’ of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Okrika scheduled to hold from 4th to 7th May, 2023 at Cathedral Church of St. Peters, Okrika with the theme ‘We Wrestle Not….Eph: 6:12.’ Lord Bishop Enoch Atuboyedia said the Synod will focus on prayers as he encouraged the Christian faithfuls especially the Anglican Communion to pray fervently. His statements read in parts: “….As a church, we are not praying enough, the Church needs to focus more on prayers to awake Nigerian Christians to pray for peace, unity, love, to pray for the country and the church.” “Also, in this year synod we will target to have a befitting Diocesan Secretariat. Foundation laying ceremony is performed already.” The bishop also stated the achievements of the diocese. “The church has been involved in scholarship schemes and currently training 15 students in various tertiary institutions and their fees fully paid by the Diocese. The Diocese have trained 269 people on various skills acquisition, free of charge.” “We are coming up with a medical scheme, where every clergyman goes for annual routine medical check up, fully paid by the Diocese; Housing scheme for all workers, administrative and clerical staff.” - His Lordship, Rt Revd.
