Becoming a disciple of Jesus is a personal decision that involves a commitment to follow Jesus Christ and his teachings. The goal is to become a copy of Jesus in the world! Here are some steps to get started:

1. Believe in Jesus Christ: The first step in becoming a disciple of Jesus is to believe in him as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. This belief comes through faith, which is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9).

2. Repent of your sins: Repentance is a turning away from sin and turning toward God. It involves a heartfelt sorrow for wrongdoing and a desire to change. Confess your sins to God and ask for forgiveness (1 John 1:9).

3. Be baptized: Baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes your death to sin and your new life in Christ (Romans 6:4).

4. Read the Bible: The Bible is God's word and is the primary way that he communicates with us. Start by reading the New Testament, which tells the story of Jesus and his teachings. Here's a great Bible reading plan for new Christians.https://www.newstartdiscipleship.com/post/bible-reading-plan-for-new-believers-the-best-one-that-i-ve-ever-found

5. Pray: Prayer is a way to communicate with God. Talk to him about your hopes, fears, and struggles, and ask for his guidance and strength.

6. Join a community of believers: Being a disciple of Jesus is not something that you do alone. Find a local church where you can worship, learn, and serve with other believers.

7. Follow Jesus' teachings: Jesus taught us to love God and love others (Matthew 22:37-40). Follow his example by living a life of service, compassion, and forgiveness. The goal of discipleship is not just learning, it is *learning in order to imitate.*

Remember, becoming a disciple of Jesus is a lifelong journey. It involves daily choices to follow him and to live according to his teachings.

1. Belief comes through faith which according to God in fact means obedience to His commandments and statutes as stipulated in His Law - Genesis 26 vs 5- or are you speaking here of mental assent which is instead the common practice among those of the religion of Christianity? undecided

2. The repentance Jesus Christ taught to the people is the same repentance that John the Baptist Himself taught and it isn't a Repentance from sin at all. Rather it is a change from following the Old Law of Moses to following the New Law and Covenant in the Kingdom of God - Matthew 3 vs 7 - 11 & Mark 1 vs 1 - 8 & Luke 3 vs 1 - 14. Can a person who engages in activity that is not as stipulated by God reap that which God only put aside for those who in fact obey Him? undecided

3. John the Baptist, never taught Baptism as some sort of public declaration as you claim. As a matter of fact, given that the switch from following the Old Law to following the New Law does not require a public show of any kind, it follows that this idea that it is public is of fallacy. undecided

The original Bible character called Jesus has been misrepresented by most religious sects claiming denominations in Christendom with contradicting teachings and conflicting doctrines making it really difficult to ascertain what being a Christian really means.

There's no way a person can become Christian without first knowing what Jesus taught that's why Jesus sent his disciples to go preaching and teaching {Matthew 28:19-20} from house to house {Matthew 10:11-13} according to him all his disciples no matter where they are must have the same line of thought regarding sacred service {John 17:22; 1Corinthians 1:10} so whatever makes any religion have different opinions on sacred service has nothing to do with Christ Jesus! 1Corinthians 14:33

So to become a REAL Christian Jesus' disciples must speak with you either in your own home, working place or other places (one on one) this is appropriate {Act 8:29-30 compare to Romans 10:14} because you will be able to ask questions about the so called Jesus {Act 8:31} and a real disciple will answer your questions satisfactorily {Act 8:34-35 } it's after the conviction that the decision to become a disciple of Christ makes sense! Act 8:36-38

Today many claiming disciples or Christians do go into the street corners or buses disturbing pedestrians with noise all in the name of Jesus Christ, well it may surprise you that such ones aren't representing Christ because he never taught his disciples to preach that way! Matthew 12:19

Before Jesus Israelite prophets do go into the streets to declare the words of their God since He is their Lawgiver {Isaiah 33:22} so the prophets were acting like His town crier telling the people what their King says! 1Samuel 8:7

But when Christ Jesus was about to establish Christianity he taught his disciples to visit people in their homes instead of shouting in the streets.
WHY?
Well Christianity must be taken to all the nations of the earth {Matthew 28:19; Act 1:8} in places where the people don't know the God of Abraham so the can't recognize His authority, that's why some nations are banning preachers because they already have their own government and rules therefore they find it odd for some people to start shouting in their streets telling them they will be tormented for not adhering to the laws of a strange King (god)

That's why Jesus taught his own disciples to approach a householder with local greetings introduce themselves and start their message. Matthew 10:12

The householder may respond positively since the preacher's is welcoming that's what will lead to further discussions until he is fully convinced that he has found the truth about his Creator! John 8:32

This all reads like your typical religious sign-up procedure and has nothing to do with God. I mean the fact that you are calling on people to pray while ignoring the almost 100 other commandments given by Jesus Christ clearly reveals you yourself are probably not as connected to Jesus Christ as you would like for others to believe that you are. undecided
