FellaG:Am from akwaibom, i am not a PA or SA or something... The duty of govt is to create enabling environment for.businesses to thrive. Lagos is what it is today cos of the labours of Nigerians, investors who saw potentials in that land.. Port harhourt is what it is today not because of the 13table tops bridge wike built within 4yrs, since 1990 akwaibomites were trooping to Port harcourt to look for work cos of what igbos esp the imolites did in Rivers. For all the roads wike built and commissioned, he haasnt built any factory nor industry for the 7plus yrs he has been on the saddle. Akwaibom is lovely and okay as a state.. Once they get that seaport up and running, lagos, rivers even delta will be envious of the state. Citizens wey wan hustle dey hustle, and they r thriving... Akwaibom na predominantly civil service state, u dont expect it to change overnight. With time the citizens who wants a new leave will invest in the state. Also u dont use the number of peeps who fly daily to quantify the level of wealth in the state Of the numbers that fly daily out of lagos, how many are lagosians or yorubas? 1 Like |

powerhouse3:Most of the things the man said about Akwa Ibom are true. But that doesn't mean we won't give kudos to the government when they do something positive. I used to condemn Akpabio back in the days, till I started touring round the country, then I knew man did a lot to put Akwa Ibom on the map. Can you even compare Cross River state with Akwa Ibom now? Hell No! |

But the truth remains that's we can never move forward as a country with people like him who sees everything from igbo, yoruba and hausa dick measurement contest. What people like him fail to understand is that igboes are more critical of the government even in their own region. Those old pictures he is displaying wasnt taken by him but by igboes in those places who took those pictures in order to criticize their government and advocate for better governance. |

FellaG: To be honest though, a growing number of Akwa Ibom men are pained that they can't out-do Igbo men, except the very few who align with politicians. But then, politicians' benefits are dependent on the governor in power. Some of the women are angry because the Igbo men they frolick with don't eventually marry them. The men are pained because they are left with leftovers because they couldn't out-compete Igbos initially. Although, there has been a consistent inter-tribal marriages between both parties.. In fact, I'm willing to bet that there are more Igbo men have married to Ibibio women than Yoruba women. However, the numbers are still low because the Igbo men who are based in Akwa Ibom are more traditional and conservative than those in Lagos and Abuja. Majority go back home to marry Igbo women. As for lands, yes, many Igbos have bought over the lands along the airport areas and even the proposed seaport. Again, a growing number of Akwa Ibom men are angry they can't compete naira for naira with the Igbos because the average Ibibio person will sell the land to the highest bidder. I say Ibibio because they are the majority and the ones willing to sell to Igbos. Annangs still hold the ills perpetrated by Igbos during the civil war to heart. Coincidentally, the Annnag areas in Akwa Ibom aren't as developed as the Ibibio areas. To be fair though, Ibibios are way liberal, educated and open minded than the Annangs. Nevertheless, in order not to cause any problem with Igbos, it's imperative that Igbos, especially young Igbo men, don't put their wealth and sexual dominance of Akwa Ibom women to Akwa Ibom men's faces. That's where the issue with Igbos come from - braggadocio and in-your-face pomposity. Humans can be envious. You maintain a cordial relationship by being pragmatic and discreet. Enjoy their women, but don't do kiss and tell. Make money and buy lands, but don't boast about it. That way, you won't have problems. Having problems with Ibibios will eliminate an ally that's culturally and religiously similar. You do so, and your other ally - Northern Nigeria's Christians - are faraway and are even endangered species. 2 Likes |

FellaG: To be fair though, the Nigerian economy has failed compared to 2011-2014. Akwa Ibom cannot out compete Nigeria in economic development. It's like expecting Texas to be financially buoyant than the US. Akwa Ibom was booming economically during Akpabio's era because the federal government was working to make the economy work. There's a limit to what the state government can do to better the economy of Akwa Ibom when the Nigerian economy is in doldrums. |

BastadThiefnubu: I agree with that. I also understand your pains, but you should understand Nigeria and the history of divide and conquer. I do hope many young Igbos learn to be taciturn when discussing about the affairs of other states while being residents. Also, I hope indigenes of states in the south south learn to know when an intruder is disguising in order to create a discord. 1 Like |

FellaG: Well, you are right and wrong. Akwa-Ibom is not a hub for business activity unless you're into building materials. Akwa-Ibomists don't like to eat outside, majority are perfectionist when it comes to cooking. So instead of to eat outside, they would rather cook their food at home by themselves. An average Akwa-Ibom man never thinks having fun is cool, they barely spend money seeing new places, this is why you had that experience at the Tropicana - the same thing that happened to Tinapa in Calabar. Our people hate fun, and when there are no visitors to the Tropicana funds for maintenance becomes a problem. Good thing is that you said you are from Akwa-Ibom, let's start now and give our people something new. In Real Estate there is a secret terminology we use - "Infrastructure before Structure." Akwa-Ibom is opening up, and with time our basic naivety would become something of the past, I just hope you can be a part of the new change that will be coming in. |

And lest I forget.Akwa ibom people are deeply religious people.and deeply superstitious. Everyone there is a witch.thier neighbors, uncle's ,aunties, well wishers, office bosses etc..are all witches in thier small minds.the only person that is not a witch is the accuser...lol No wonder the outgoing governor is a deacon, the incoming one a pastor. To deceive them just claim to be a pastor. churches are full on weekdays with prophesy seeking people.instead of working, they troop into all these churches in the hope of killing thier enemies(the witches) and getting prosperity(without work) Akwa ibom should be feeding the nation ordinarily. A coastal state with dark loamy fertile soil..they should be exporting seafood, cassava and palmoil worldwide.instead, they import common garri from Akampa.fresh fish is even costlier in Uyo than ABA. They don't wanna be called lazy..smh Rain falls there throughout the year. The youths will not farm. They would rather go to church.lol they would rather follow one politician and wait in line to be PA to PA to PA to SA to SSA to a politician. shameful bro |

You can lie to your ancestors who are making you to leave your dump state to just go and discredit a the most beautiful state in the country. You think Akwa ibom was rank the cleanest state for nothing? You lack to mention when you drive around the city did you see anyone begging you for Money to say they're suffering? Did u see akperos, did u enter bad roads or did you see mad men on the street like in your states full of ritualist? Don't forget the picture posted here is even a village. Imagine villages having good roads how much the city? Come and post your village lets see. You should have captured yourself sweating there, capture the cinema without power, capture while you're in the flight, capture yourself too so everyone can believe. Stupid scammer. Go back to your state, we don't need you in Akwa ibom. People like you are ones South Africans and other countries are chasing away. Same here if I see you I'll chase you back to were you came. We love Akwa ibom, and I've been to worst states yet I never discreted any. Fvck your black ass. Fool 3 Likes |
