A Nigerian, Yemi Mobolade, has been elected the mayor of Colorado Springs, a municipality in Colorado in the United States. With his victory at the polls, Mobolade becomes the first Black man elected to lead the city in political upheaval, the Colorado Sun reports. The new mayor, a Nigerian immigrant and businessman, won the seat with no political experience. Mobolade becomes the mayor after he defeated Wayne Williams on Tuesday night in the city’s runoff contest. Mobolade’s victory represents a political earthquake in Colorado Springs, long known as a conservative stronghold. Wayne Williams is a Republican while Mobolade is unaffiliated, the report added. Mobolade had received 57% of the vote to Williams’ 43% as of 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. Williams conceded at about 7:30 p.m. When the second batch of results was released shortly before 9 p.m., the percentages hadn’t shifted. Mobolade will succeed Mayor John Suthers, a former federal prosecutor and Colorado attorney general who was term-limited, to become the city’s 42nd mayor https://punchng.com/nigerian-elected-first-black-mayor-in-us-municipal/

KwuoteYourFada: He wouldn't, he is not irresponsible unlike the GRV guy that threw his tribe under the bus and still wanted to rule. If you have kids, train them well to be responsible and respectful to people, especially from your tribe as his father. |

airmark: Shut Bleep up you immature prick! If you can't entertain freedom of expression, association and speech you should be living in the cave! Not disgracing yourself online You think there are no racist there in US? Back in the 50s when there was heavy racism he can't even try it! Now in 21st century Its because there are majority of people who are sensible and don't care as long as you can job well who cares where you're from? what you say on social media? ! Do your job well ! Is what whites are after not singing the praise of people and performing badly like we gat here in Nigeria Accomodators my left ass it was easy for them to pick what GRV said about yorubas but they neglected that tinubu once said he doesn't believe in one Nigeria (which is his own personal opinion) but he wants to rule same country he made derogatory remarks about Make Una continue dey beat Una fresh looking brothers and sisters because of election mumu dirty things Ndị ara! |

KwuoteYourFada: Readers would have easily seen the immature prick between me and you. If you voted irresponsible, disrespectful leaders in your zone, other people in sane societies wouldn't allow such elements to be at the helms of their leadership affairs. No wonder, your zone is now a death zone where USA citizens on a charity mission were easily killed, and that is not even your concern but how to put an anti-Yoruba governor in Lagos. You should bring statements of the new mayor, where he ridiculed the natives of Colorado springs, for your defence to be sensible an inch. For now, you are just dancing in ignominy, a macabre dance that can only attract applause from dunderheads like you. |
