Why Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe will be angry with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka(UNN) even at death:-

Pictures below are the estate Zik donated to UNN. It has 22 buildings within the Estate and it is called Zik’s flats. The university turned it into some of the student's hostels (Hall of residence). But failed to maintain it to the extent that the estate is dilapidated today. They used it as students' hostels for years before leaving it to collapse totally by 2008. The UNN ‘Zik Flats’ are in terrible condition and uninhabited.

This estate contains 22 blocks of 2-storey buildings each with restaurants and nursing mothers' blocks different from the 22 blocks.
They were built by the Late. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe donated to the University community but the school abandoned it to be in its current state.

It is a culture of poor mentainace culture and lack of responsibility for failure on the part of those that should manage this.

The Almighty Ziks Flat lying fallow and desolate 😔... What a pity!



Successive Vice Chancellors have promised to revitalized the flats to its glory days but have only done little to that effect. I can still remember Ozumba concessioning it to a private firm to refurbish and manage but nothing has been done since then.
