Hello everyone, please I need your advise as this is my first time moving into an apartment that's not bills included. Is EDF a good and affordable energy supplier? Which is better... EDF or Octopus or OVo? Pay as you go meter or postpaid meter? Thank you. |

Queenessy: How many bedrooms and how much is the bill? |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by triplo3: 7:33am On Nov 01, 2023 |
Queenessy: Octopus |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Queenessy: 7:36am On Nov 01, 2023 |
justwise: It's a 1 bedroom flat. I'm moving in today but have been advised to take the meter reading of the previous tenant and reach out to the energy supplier(EDF) to register my account. |

Queenessy: Yes that is very very important so as to avoid paying for previous tenant's bill. When you get the bill from EDF then you can compare that with Octopus. 1 Like 1 Share |

It beats me this current trend of ...I'm happy to xxxxxx or I woke up and got an email telling me I got distinction bla blah ...our people are doing now on social media. One even posted his full university number on the email informing him of dissertation result not even final degree grading o! Employers don't use that to employ you its what you know! Anyway ....AMEX say make I remind all of una to use my referral oooo https://americanexpress.com/en-gb/referral/tEMItOWp3J?CPID=100439814 ...I need avios to book post-Christmas ticket oooo Lexusgs430: 1 Like |

Exactly ...I was telling one new student doing his first degree when he was asking me for support work link. I had to tell him to shut that talk and rather look for ways to start booking for summer internship. I mean you are on 4 years na support you wan do all 4 years? No thought on what you need to do to get into your career lane. We go alright las las hustla: |

bigtt76: How do you prove what you know if you don't come to the attention of the people who will make the decisions and get the chance to make your case to them? Those posts circulate, get people taking note of you, create opportunities for connection and engagement that you would very likely never have had otherwise. You might find it cringe, and obviously some people overdo it, but those posts serve a key purpose and LinkedIn generally is arguably the most important tool for early career success, and especially for immigrants. 3 Likes |

Hello Thatโs a No No when working with Government When he starts training and learn things like personal security online, intelligence awareness, security and data protection He will reduce his social media presence that links him to MOD Or he gets a query from his security team when they find out he posted that Cheers hustla: |

Lexusgs430: MOD has different departments that aren't core military or intelligence-based. I doubt if employees in such roles have such restrictions - he may be working in one of such roles. |

bigtt76: Yea, that has been the trend on Linkedin. It's full of exaggerated stories from employees, job seekers and recruiters, with everybody trying to outdo others on their "amazing personalities and soft skills". But funny as it might sound, you'd be shocked at how some employers really value such demonstrations. Some prioritise it above technical skills. 1 Like |

....click baiting is actually a thing you know You are right its not wrong really to toot your horn just that its becoming a funny trend ...may be cos its coming to my timeline but I hardly see others posting their raw results. Its good to declare your achievements and reflect back on what you learnt, demonstrate how it could be useful to your potential employers, but going the lenght to post sensitive details would also make your potential employer cringe at that textbook error.
