As matter of urgency, I want to confirm if this action can fly . I want to switch from tier 4 Visa to tier 2 skilled worker visa. Is it necessary or is part of requirements to show proof of English for the tier 2 visa application. I have done with my Msc program, however I can't get my certificate because of outstanding school fees. I owed school 2k, this will be paid as soon as possible but not in plan for now. I want to submit the tier 2 application form now and the company is expecting me to resume 1st of July. Please foks I need your advice.

Location of borrower: Uxbridge and Location of Lender: Currently in Ghana.

The only downside....... Lender would have to make a trip to the UK.......

When judgement is issued, hopefully borrower got funds to satisfy judgment or assets to be charged against (charging order).......

https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money

The issuance of a summons, might shake debtor to engage.......

Unfortunately, this is the legal route I can advice........

NB: is debt under £10,0000........

Your main priority should be paying off the school ASAP and getting your certificate. Don’t you even need the certificate for the job you’re switching to? You also need the school for references and background checks, so you need to be in good standing for when it’s time to tick all those boxes.

Not so straightforward. He needs to answer common sense questions from Revolut and sign an agreement so that they can know if he would be able to absorb the knocks of crypto.

Please family, is there a deadline for a biometrics appointment?
Last month, I applied for a dependent graduate visa (PSW) for myself and my 4 kids here in the UK.
I applied on the 11th of May 2023 and I booked free biometrics for 12.00 noon on the 8th of June 2023. On the 2nd of June, my daughter who is in college told me she has an IGSCE exam at 10.30 am on the 8th of June 2023. I went to the biometrics center to try to convince them to allow us to do our biometrics at 9.00 am or 2.00 pm, but they said No and they advised me to cancel the appointment and book another date.
The nearest free date I saw was the 30th of June which I finally booked. I am worried as a friend told me biometrics appointments must be done within 46 days of submitting application for dependent graduate visa . Can anyone here confirm if this is true?

When I received food items from Nigeria via DHL, after the items got to UK, DHL sent a message that I need to pay £62 for tax and import duty for some items (vegetables) before delivery.

That was my experience and I paid.

Hummmm. I was about to order from naija. I guess I need to hold off

Please what was the value declared on this shipment?

Hello Nairalanders. I need your input to help my Brother in a dilemma.

He helped a friend with a loan to help fund his study in the U.K.

3 years down the line, the gentleman has refused to send even 50 pence to appease his poor soul.

Is there an establishment we can report this to? As all diplomatic means has proved futile.

I look forward to your expert guidance.

I learnt this the very hard way..... lots of people are not grateful. You help them but they only thinking of their selfish ways. Even when they can pay back small small they rather keep it all

I don't think there any formal way to get it back than to learn never to do it again

I can't tell. It was my wife that did everything, I only got involved in the payments. But the foodstuffs were many and shipment from Nigeria was over 100k.

Help guys! I will be travelling to Nigeria next week via Turkish airline. The layover time is about 15 hours. The airline will be lodging passengers in a hotel. I just want to know if I need visa to be able to leave the airport and lodge in the hotel. Has anybody ever been through similar situation before? Please how did you handle it?

My dear read the terms and conditions properly of the free accommodation … i just booked Turkish airline as well. The accommodation access thingy is a very tricky one loool. I realised most Nigerians wouldn’t actually qualify for it because there are other options on Turkish airline with a shorter transit time.

I stand to be corrected if i am wrong anyways… but I personally planning to go with an alternative plans like paying for a lounge access. Its my first time flying turkish or even transit so my experience is really limited.

You need a VISA to go outside of the airport where the hotel would most likely be. You can as well decide to stay within the airport premises if you like. You can get food every 5 hours, just go to the Turkish airline customer care section to get meal vouchers for any of the restaurants they currently partner with. The last time I travelled I stayed in a lounge area with recliner sleeper chairs which were not too bad. Happy travels 🙂

I would have to consider the option of paying for a lounge access too. I think it's just the visa thing that disqualifies us from the free accommodation. Thanks for sharing your thought.
