So I should ask the UK government to intervene in Nigeria's issue? God forbid. I will rather pressure our leaders to address the issue. Thankfully the situation has improved recently. Let them deal with the one they created in the middle east first.

What sort of pressure methods have you used, so far........ 😂🤣

Nuhu said things are getting better, I dare him to travel from Abuja - Lagos, by road (without any security details).......,😂

I find this thread of discussion rather disrespectful to all the women on this thread. (It sounds alarmingly close to beer parlour talk)

You wouldn't like it if I reduced men to their parts and started a discussion on that here now, would you?

I m sorry if it feels like I m picking on you. I m not. I thought it would just be the 1 aberrant comment but it seems to be dragging on and on.

@rock86 it's bigoted to apply a broad brush to all the members of a group. If the British had applied that to Nigerians you wouldn't be here. You have to relate to people one on one to make a judgement.

Good afternoon to you. I am here again ooh

I wanted to asked if after applying for my postgraduate visa and getting married to my boyfriend (he’s English) by December,

1) when do I start counting for ILR?

2) After our court wedding will he need to inform the government or I will be the one to do so?

3) Is there any application I’m expected to do after the marriage?

Another problem I have now is that my agency is even stressing they will stop me from picking shift soonest as my visa will be expiring by December. I plan on applying for my postgraduate visa two weeks to my visa expiration date🥹

Even my English boyfriend made some contact for me but they said to him that I need to secure a new visa before they can employ me.

I’m physically and mentally stress in this UK seriously.

Thank you

Morning all, could someone please suggest a cure for eczema and itchy skin for a 3-year-old girl based on past experience, please?

She's had eczema since she was 1 year old, initially appearing only on both knees. We've been using Aveeno cream since then, but it got worse this year when it started appearing all over her body. We took her to the GP, and she prescribed a steroid. It clears it away temporarily, but it comes back even more after withdrawing the steroids.

She keeps waking up during the night due to itching and can sometimes take 1 to 2 hours before she falls back asleep. As a result of the scratching, we also can't sleep until she sleeps.

She's not always in a good mood during the day as she spends lots of time scratching all over her body.

She's been sent back home a couple of times from nursery due to that.

List of stuff we've used: Aveeno, Zerobase, Hydromol, Epimax, Dermol lotion for bathing, steroid cream, Piriton for itching (this makes her too sleepy).

1) when do I start counting for ILR?

You will be eligible to apply for ILR in 5 years from the initial grant of your leave to remain as a partner (FLR M).

2) After our court wedding will he need to inform the government or I will be the one to do so?

See answer to #3

3) Is there any application I’m expected to do after the marriage?

[b]Yes you would need to make an FLR M applicatio to vary your leave as the spouse of a British citizen:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/apply-to-extend-stay-in-the-uk-as-a-partner-or-dependent-child-form-flrm/apply-online-form-flr-m

The application fee is £1,258 and the IHS fees are £2587. You would need your marriage certificate and other documents, photos etc to substantiate your relationship. If successful, leave would be granted for 30 months. You would need to make a further application to renew your leave before it expires, providing evidence to demonstrate that your union is subsisting. You would then be granted another 30 months leave and just before this leave expires you would be eligible to apply for ILR.

Note that the law requires you to give one month notice at the Registry before you can be wed.

Hope this helps.

[/b

Edited to add that you do not need to make the FLR M application right after your wedding. You can vary your leave at any point until your Post graduate visa expires. However your stay won't start counting to ILR until you switch to the FLRM 5 year route.

ILR is 10years of legal residency, or 5years on a qualifying visa, so if you apply for PSW visa you will start counting towards the 10 years (1year on student visa + 2 years on PSW) that will be 3years, you will need another visa at the end of the psw to qualify for ILR in 10years.
Alternatively, you can apply for spousal visa which is 5years to ILR or Skill worker visa which is also 5years to ILR and you can only start counting when you've gotten the visa.

We're in a rate cutting cycle and baring any unforseen circumstance, rates are expected to drop but not as low as they were pre-covid as it's clear all that did was to inflate asset prices.

The govt is pushing to increase supply of new homes but a huge bottle neck not yet visibly considered is the workforce to build such houses in an affordable way. Eitherway, getting on the housing ladder early is advantageous

Very interested in this now, since it's possible to get mortgage even before ILR.

So it looks like the underdog has flipped places and become the favourite to go to the membership. Question now is who Cleverly will go up against. Kemi or Jenrick. Too close to call. If Kemi goes through then she might win as she's a membership favourite although her lead has narrowed accordingly to the polls.

Based on your previous postings here, you only arrived the UK a few moons ago.
Yet, you have amassed a good enough sample size to reach a conclusion about Zimbabwe’s women’s hips.

The fear of Reform is the beginning of [un]wisdom.

Some say best to head them off by being more wild-eyed than they are and giving vent to more deluded flights of rhetoric; others say best to reclaim the centre ground and preserve the Tories' reputation for calm-headed statesmanship.

Badenoch wins on the first premise, Cleverly on the second. I'm hoping strongly for the second, but expecting the first.

She’s already said that during the interview anchored by Daily Telegraph…she doesn’t want to be first black leader of Tory party etc.

She wasn’t even that articulate, her speech fell flat. They’re mocking her over her pauses waiting for imaginary applause. James Cleverly gave the best speech. KB so she’s just a low budget UK Candace Owens

Unsurprisingly, James Cleverly impressive showing at the conference has given him a boost and the others predictably lost support due to their poor showing especially KB. Key lesson, politics is a popularity contest, never underestimate the power of rhetorical prowess.

My prediction - JC & RJ to go through to final vote (as I expect Tom’s 20 votes to sway towards Jenrick or Cleverly, but we shall see).
