The 9th Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) was held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria. The awards ceremony, which is Africa's biggest and most prestigious film awards, celebrates the best in African cinema.

The 2023 AMVCAs were a night of triumph for African cinema. The event saw a number of firsts, including the first time that a Yoruba film won the Best Movie award.
