Nigeria's Flying Eagles have advanced to the Round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Argentina after they defeated Italy 2-0 in Mendoza on Wednesday night, 24 May, Newspremises reports.

Going into this game, The Flying Eagles and the Italian side won their first ties in this competition which made their second game a more interesting encounter.

Ladan Bosso and his wards started this game impressively, but despite their efforts to score, they were unable to find the back of the net in the first half.

They were also lucky towards the end of the first half as the Italians had chances that would have resulted in goals.

Salim Fago Lawal opened the scoring for the Nigerian team in the 61st minute before Jude Sunday added the second goal at the death.

With one game remaining in the Group stage, Ladan Bosso and his wards will be looking forward to excelling in the round of 16 according to the report in The Guardian.

Italy wey suppose collect like 5:0 for that match. They were freakingly sluggish and their performance was below par. They had dominance in the first half and couldnt score a very lazy and unreliable adults in the Nigerian team who were playing like fowls goals. But these Nigerian fowls came back and put 2 with a turnaround and an astonishing effort which saw the then demoralized teens from Italy scavenging for goals in all manners.
