The Nigerian Labour Congress should be objective. Their support for Peter Obi during the #NigerianElections2023 and the power struggle in the Labour Party between Julius Abure and Lamidi Apapa may have seriously eroded their political neutrality.

And after being partisan during the election, their call for strike action over the patriotic removal of fuel subsidy may be seen by some Nigerians as a pro-Peter Obi stance.

As such, I call on the NLC to reconsider their decision to call a national strike. It is too early in the day. Nigeria is still in transition. Such an action might play into the hands of those saying 'democracy is dead in Nigeria' and put democracy in danger.

We know. NLC lost it's credence and relevance since the exit of Adams Oshiomole.
This Reno is one of the most useless Politician cum pastor I ever know. This same Reno claimed that he was the one who nominated Peter Obi for vice-presidency in 2019 and also recommended him to Atiku for consideration of same position

The ultimatum smacks of bias and partisanship. But then, the labour congress has the legal right to issue that ultimatum.

I will not join NLC’s useless, meaningless, unnecessary, senseless and partisan strike.

Hopefully, the no work no pay policy that broke ASUU will also be applied.

Every sensible Nigerian knows that the subsidy regime is no longer sustainable. All major candidates agreed that subsidy should be removed from the first day of the new administration. This extremely partisan Labour never voiced out when all the candidates made this a point of campaign. So, what has changed? Would they have called for strike if Peter Obi had won?

Finally, the argument that the removal should be gradual and not at once is stale and no longer tenable. We’ve been on this gradual removal thing since 1999 and we are yet to remove it fully. It’s either we remove it at once and let market forces dictate the price going forward or we continue fully with the subsidy regime till we run the country into a hole. If some of us were partisan and stupid in 2012, should the rest of you not learn from that mistake?

On this, I disagree with Omokri.

NLC leaders are not politicians.

They are hustlers in search of the highest bidders.

If criminal fuel importers offer them more than what the govt can offer, then there will be prolonged strike.

If reverse is the case, there may not be any strike.

You being a Nigeria doesn't give you the right to air your view when the state of the country doesn't have any influence in your day to day living.

Those who are experiencing it, are in a better position to say sth, not a fugitive, I guess you are one of his fanboys right?
