Nigerian-born midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is on the verge of making his first senior appearance for top Serie A outfit SS Lazio, no thanks to the long list of injury worries to key players of the capital team.

Onazi was part of the coach John Obuh-led side that won silver at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup staged in Nigeria. The team lost to an impressive Switzerland team who shocked the Golden Eaglets in the final 1-0 inside thew Abuja National Stadium.

The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the surprises from the youth team and has scored four goals in five appearances and has been getting rave reviews from all and sundry, and is seen as a midfielder who has good control, can distribute the ball very well, can do the two phases of the game, has good shots and it is widely believed that he is the future of SS Lazio.
