The Minister of Works, Chief Adeseye Ogunlewe, became the first known casualty of the crises rocking the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State.

Ogunlewe was sacked as a minister on Wednesday, according to a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Ufot Ekaette.

The two-paragraph statement by Ekaette read, “The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has relieved Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe of his appointment as Minister of Works of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with immediate effect.

THE sacked Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, has denounced insinuations that he was sacked because of any disagreement with the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, saying that “only the president knew why he relieved me of my job.”

While making the clarification at the handling over ceremony of his former ministry to the Minister of State, Works, Mallam Yahaya Abdulkarim, Senator Ogunlewe used the occasion to call on President Obasanjo to accept the call on him by some Nigerians to extend his tenure through a third term in the interest of the nation.

Most people forget that Obasanjo don't have a permanent friend. What do you think about his Sack?

OBJ is a sharp man. He knows that this traitor of a fella will one day bring to bare on the PDP his track records of ''traitorism'' at the AD. And when the loudmouthed politician began to show his true color, when he had been propped up a bit by OBJ at the works ministry, OBJ knew this guy must be an unrepentant traitor. He's got to deal with him very fast before he brings down the roof at the PDP.

He should thank his stars that he was not sent to the gulag by EFCC. I believe OBJ's marking this guys time. He will send the bulldogs (EFCC) after him very soon. Then, he'll know that it's not good to dine with the devil with a short spoon.

Well said

I wonder what is wrong with our politicians. They get to a certain position and think they will be there forever.

I'm sure it is a matter of time for the EFCC to run after. I wonder what will happen to his governorship aspiration now.

@Kola, please whose house is that background, where the loudmouth snapped the picture? EFCC must see this kind of picture o.

I agree completely. Because the true Yoruba political elite (old, tribalistic and silly as they might seem) stand for truth and justice (at least there perception of it). Most people dont realise that the Yorubas are the greatest opposers of OBJ and those that serve under him are mostly traitors or sychophants with no grassroot support. Look at the record of Yoruba elders that have been seduced to the dark side by Baba Iyabo
Bola Ige (no disrespect to him, he was a great man) - murdered
S.O Afolabi - suicide?/murder?
Ogunlewe - disgraced/ gaoled?

Thank God people like Olu Falae and co have kept up their stance. History will judge

Well the chicken has come to roast.

He that live by sword shall die by the sword.
He has allowed himself to be used and dumped, others - Fani-Kayode, Akin Osuntokun, Bode George and the rest should be careful, what goes around comes around.

The yeyeman sholud now go to Mile 12 market and spent N100 to prepare for his family a good pot of soup.A Foolish man never learn from history, thus history is reapeating itself.

That he want OBJ to continue, Let Tell him and some other fools that Governance is a continous process, there is always an unfinished job somewhere, somehow.
President Come President Go, Aso will still remain.

The reality dawned on him that he will become jobless, so he has offered OBJ his person if Baba eventually decalres for 3rd term.

Tinubu countered this and he has offered him a job in LASTMA! shocked So that the man will not remain jobless to the extent of him hallucinating about any 3rd term! grin
