BRIEF PROFILE OF Rt. HON. UWEM PETER IMOH-ITA

Rt. Hon. Uwem Peter Imoh-Ita is a highly accomplished and respected individual who has just been inaugurated today as the Member Representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. With an impressive educational background and a long-standing commitment to public service, Imoh-Ita has garnered extensive experience and a deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of his constituents.


Uwem Peter Imoh-Ita's educational journey began at Aunty Margaret International Schools in Calabar, where he completed his primary education. He then proceeded to Queen of Apostles Seminary in Afaha Obong, Abak, for his junior secondary education. Continuing in his quest for knowledge, Imoh-Ita attended Hope Waddell Training Institution in Calabar for his senior secondary education. Recognizing the importance of education as a catalyst for personal growth and societal development, Imoh-Ita pursued higher education at the University of Uyo, where he acquired his B.Ed in Pre Primary and Primary Education.

Uwem Peter Imoh-Ita's political career has been marked by a series of impactful roles and achievements, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to public service and community development. He served as a Councillor from 2004 to 2007, representing Ukpum Minya Ward III. During his tenure as a Councillor, Imoh-Ita tirelessly advocated for the interests and welfare of his constituents, addressing their concerns and working towards improving their quality of life.

Imoh-Ita's passion for education and youth development was evident in his role as the Supervisor for Education from 2012 to 2015. In this position, he played a vital role in shaping and implementing policies that promoted access to quality education for all. Imoh-Ita worked diligently to improve educational infrastructure, enhance teaching and learning resources, and create an enabling environment for students to thrive academically.

Recognizing the importance of youth empowerment and engagement in the political process, Imoh-Ita served as the Youth Caucus Chairman for the Mkpat Enin Chapter from 2009 to 2015. As the chairman, he provided a platform for young persons to actively participate in leadership and community development activities. Imoh-Ita's efforts in this role helped to nurture the next generation of leaders and instil in them a sense of responsibility and commitment to the betterment of society. His sterling leadership qualities were also evident when he served as National Secretary, of NAAKISS WORLDWIDE.

Uwem Peter Imoh-Ita's political acumen and organizational skills were further exemplified in his role as the Deputy Campaign Director General for Victor Ekwere Council during the 2019 elections. His strategic insights, meticulous planning, and effective coordination contributed significantly to the success of the campaign. Imoh-Ita's ability to mobilize support and rally the community around a shared vision showcased his leadership qualities and dedication to achieving positive political outcomes.
