Former Nigerian and professional footballer John Mikel Obi who played as a defensive midfielder, for Chelsea FC, from 2006–2017 and other international football teams during his active carrier made a statement in Lagos Nigerian concerning the Champions League Final which took place last Saturday at the Annual Goal fest event which is a sport and entertainment yearly held event in Lagos Nigeria.

During his interview on stage with Ace sport Journalist Mozez Praiz and Former Super Eagle star Victor Ikpeba, Mikel rooted for Manchester city to win the Champions league with a scoreline of 2 -1 in favor of Manchester City, and it came to pass and his prediction was correct about who took home the trophy but not the correct score.

However, John Mikel Obi has won four FA Cup titles to go with his two Premier League wins and also claimed the UEFA Champions League in 2011/12 and the UEFA Europa League the following year.
