I said it, you can't remove subsidy and still control the market. Dangote is finished. He will be defeated in the importation game if a level play ground is allowed

There should be a body that check the quality of petroleum products import to the country, so that we will not regret taking some decisions.

Is NNPCL not a body?

Wrong news headline.

With deregulation, NNPLC will no longer be the sole importer, anyone can apply for and be granted a license to import and compete with the NNPLC.

So no marketer moves anywhere, it is the expected trend.

Which deregulation?

NNPCL can't be scrapped. It serves both good and bad purposes. It is a regulator for the industry. It is also conduit of corruption for enriching those in government

If CBN is truly floating the naira as we heard, then there is no story here.

Their worries is basically how to access FX, while NNPCL access FX from CBN at the government exchange rate, the marketers do so in the parallel market at a higher price.

This is why it's very important for the BAT government to hastily do something on the FX Market and put a single exchange rate
Say no more!!!!!… cool

That's not what the write up says and no marketer would ask for that anyway. It is not possible.

“If the PIA seeks to fully deregulate the market, then it would be ready to allow competition and create a level playing field. What we are asking is that government should not allow NNPCL to access foreign exchange at official exchange rate and expect independent or major marketers to source forex from the parallel market.

I second this wholeheartedly

NnPCL remains the sole importer of refined petroleum products as far as Nigeria is concerned.
The alleged removal of subsidy only means that the nnpcl will no longer sell below it's established price for fg to balance up.
The nnpcl has powers to.issue import licenses to whoever is willing to play to it's rules on importation of products.fg will not determine on it.

Get it now

Is NNPCL a private company or government owned company

Dangote has been on that for long. His devilish avarice to the detriment of Nigeria knows no level.
He just wants to pocket everyone and everything. God shall shame him in no time.

The next major challenge in the subsidy issue is the providence of licenses to all able and willing importers. Float the naira as well so there's a level playing field.

I imagine how these will be stifled because Dangote wants to recoup his funds through monopoly.

You wonder why no other investor(s) were not able to have their refineries all these years. Is it that they didn't have the money? All these corrupt cabals have huge stakes in that refinery but last last, what happened to telecoms of Mtn and Econet will happen to the oil industry as well.

How can somebody borrow billions of dollars to build a refinery and paid back 70% of the same money when the refinery is yet to produce a single drop of petrol ?
20% of the loan was converted to equity shares, which means FG own 20% shares with the company. The remaining 50% I don't know how but perhaps him fit use few billion $ play 2 odds for Bet9ja and win, who knows?

That's a good question. I was shocked when Emefiele stated that during the commission of the Dangote refinery. Emefiele is a thief. If you find out he has a stake in Dangote refinery.

Oga o. Ọrọ owo ma lagbara o. I have not seen a single comment from Kadoso Mutairu aka seunmsg since morning. I mean, after all the support he gave to Emile O'Corn, the latter has to pay him back by reverting his padded salary to status quo. I mean who does that to his benefactor? Anyways, our hearts go out for you seunmsg. I am sure that everything will work out fine.

Nigerians paid for it due to the difference in exchange rate.

By using funds from his other companies....its not diversification. Do you know how much cements he has sold since Refinery started? You can then ask...if he is making so much money, why borrow to begin with? Borrowing can be made for timely task and repayment can occur over many months and years...you don't want the uncertainty of profits from other ventures to delay implementation or expansion. You can learn a thing or two from Dangote and Rich people.

Why do you want marketers to import fuel? This marketers are evil from the days of Jonathan. You guys hate the only person that took risk and loan to build a refinery in Nigeria while taking sides with the same marketers that have benefited massively from subsidy scheme. Obasanjo sold refinery to Dangote back in 2007 and you guys with the same hate ensure that Adam collected those refineries back from Dangote....The question i will to ask is, what has Nigerians benefited from the returned refineries since 2007?

Marketers will continue to import fuel through nnpcl as long as we don't refined fuel locally and cannot support domestic consumption

Because Dangote understands how he became a major force in the cement industry. While some companies were trying to produce cement locally, Dangote was allowed to import cement until he strangulate them and was able to buy some of them.

NITEL was like NNPC. MTN and Econet will be like Dangote refineries today. Charging exorbitant prices for their Sim cards, billing per minute and extraneous processes just to get things done.

It was Glo that broke that monopoly. That what I hope happens to the Nigerian oil industry in due time as well.

Why will any importing refined crude still need a refinery? All they need is a (depot) storage facility

This is not even hatred or lack of patriotism, it is witchcraft in training.

Go for deliverance

Since May 2015 there have been many good news and you can see the effect from where we are today, massive inflation, massive debt, massive monopolies, massive oil theft etc.

We are tired of many news and no impact on people's lives. Within one hour of this govt fuel price increased to N500 per litre which has caused untold hardship in an already bad situation. This shows the massive power of govt to affect your life positively or negatively in an instant.

PLS LET SOME GOVT ACTION AFFECT PEOPLE'S LIVES POSITIVELY IN AN INSTANT....WE ARE TIRED OF PLENTY NEWS
