I said it, you can't remove subsidy and still control the market. Dangote is finished. He will be defeated in the importation game if a level play ground is allowed 1 Like |

ijustdey: “If the PIA seeks to fully deregulate the market, then it would be ready to allow competition and create a level playing field. What we are asking is that government should not allow NNPCL to access foreign exchange at official exchange rate and expect independent or major marketers to source forex from the parallel market. I second this wholeheartedly |

The next major challenge in the subsidy issue is the providence of licenses to all able and willing importers. Float the naira as well so there's a level playing field. I imagine how these will be stifled because Dangote wants to recoup his funds through monopoly. You wonder why no other investor(s) were not able to have their refineries all these years. Is it that they didn't have the money? All these corrupt cabals have huge stakes in that refinery but last last, what happened to telecoms of Mtn and Econet will happen to the oil industry as well. 1 Like |

By using funds from his other companies....its not diversification. Do you know how much cements he has sold since Refinery started? You can then ask...if he is making so much money, why borrow to begin with? Borrowing can be made for timely task and repayment can occur over many months and years...you don't want the uncertainty of profits from other ventures to delay implementation or expansion. You can learn a thing or two from Dangote and Rich people. melonsgroup: |

Dreal1247:Why do you want marketers to import fuel? This marketers are evil from the days of Jonathan. You guys hate the only person that took risk and loan to build a refinery in Nigeria while taking sides with the same marketers that have benefited massively from subsidy scheme. Obasanjo sold refinery to Dangote back in 2007 and you guys with the same hate ensure that Adam collected those refineries back from Dangote....The question i will to ask is, what has Nigerians benefited from the returned refineries since 2007? |

hansomb: NITEL was like NNPC. MTN and Econet will be like Dangote refineries today. Charging exorbitant prices for their Sim cards, billing per minute and extraneous processes just to get things done. It was Glo that broke that monopoly. That what I hope happens to the Nigerian oil industry in due time as well. 1 Like |

Within one hour of this govt fuel price increased to N500 per litre which has caused untold hardship in an already bad situation. This shows the massive power of govt to affect your life positively or negatively in an instant. PLS LET SOME GOVT ACTION AFFECT PEOPLE'S LIVES POSITIVELY IN AN INSTANT....WE ARE TIRED OF PLENTY NEWS |
