How do you handle it when your wife can’t stand your mother?
If the wife cannot stand the mother it is the husband’s job to run interference. If the mother is causing problems, interfering with the relationship, and otherwise providing serious reasons for the wife to dislike the mother

The wife should be patient she wound also face the same when she becomes a mother inlaw someday ... Women are notorious for that, they think it's taking control not knowing it is sowing a seed to be harvested in the future. Granted some mother in-laws are too nosey but if you marry a man remember you marry the family. Don't you wonder why husbands hardly have problem with the wife's mother or father ?

If you are in war with your mother inlaw just know it's a seed .. time is the only thing that is keeping you from facing the same... It will happen !!

You have to take side with your mom (reasonable one though) She can't get another son, but your wife can always get another husband the second you drop dead.

Your wife is I'll leave at the sight of longer terminal illness but your mom won't.

Limit the exposure to the mother. This is especially the case when the mother is trying to make the husband choose between the wife and the mother and/or is causing problems with the children. The person related to the parent is the one who has to deal with the problems. In this case, the husband is related to the mother so it is his job to manage the problem. He should not expect the wife to manage it.

I know in some cultures the mother-in-law is pretty much in charge. But if the husband wants a happy and lasting marriage, he is best off realizing that the mother isn’t the woman he married and needs to live with. The wife is the woman he chose.

Now, if there are problems with the wife. If she is legitimately narcissistic and unreasonable, then there becomes a question of whether the wife was the right choice. That is not so much about the mother as what kind of woman the man married.

The same is true if the woman’s family is causing the problems. It is the woman’s job to deal with the problems, not her spouse’s.

If i never had problem with her parents why will she have problem with my parents.
Beside if my mother is the one worrying her, then my wife has to tell me because i know how to handle the issue, the one reason she will have the guts to retaliate back is when i am not playing my role as a husband to maintain peace. I don't think any woman born by a woman will stress my own mother in my own house, mama comes first not one stranger.

After the birth of your child, you can give the baby to your mama to nurture.....no baby mama, no wife, no stranger, no wahala!

You remind me of one of my former psychiatric patient, guy was insistent that strangers are better at taking care of children....you are here confirming it.
