Josegun: Gas , even cooking gas cylinders if it leaks can cause explosions. How much more cars. How many oyibo people are even using it ? Av boarded vehicles that carry the cng in the boot when I was schooling in Benin. My fear has always been that of leakage and high pressure etc. Once u can appreciate the danger of carrying a gas cylinder about for days, and months u Shud be able to appreciate it's dangers too 2 Likes

cyberguy72:Full cylinder of cng used to cost 1700 and can cover over 200km but the price has recently gone up 3000 naira. So cng worth 3000 naira can cover a mileage of over 200km on a 4 plug engine 2 Likes |

We at Cars and Horsepower doubt this claim. How much is the kit na? Beware, yo'all. Make sure a certified installer does the job for you. Compressed gas no be your mate. Mboi: |

ibinaboonline:This is a big fat lie, it even preserves your engine cos it burns cleaner than petrol, only downside is you need to check your oils and spark plugs regularly because the engine runs dry. |

ibinaboonline:Dey play.. just dey play. The kits you use are made in China (don't even claim otherwise). One person will ship 5 40fit container loads of that kit and spread it everywhere and the price will crash by fore by force. Even you will come and buy from them. Most car servicing companies buy from importers in Ladipo. Make una dey play... |

Well, let's rephrase. CNG fuel lowers your engine's power output by 10 to 15 percent, which means you will experience a slight lack of power while driving the car in CNG fuel. To us at Cars and Horsepower, that's "damaging," bro. But I get you. CNG leaves much less residue compared to petrol or diesel, so, it should theoretically cause less damage to the engine's pipes and tubes. In this sense, CNG will rather prolong the engine's lifespan. But then again, as India's GoMechanic confirms (CNG is widely adopted in India more than in any other country in the world), you're going to be more mindful about service schedules if you switch to CNG. That's because your engine runs dry when it is on CNG so the spark plugs and the engine oil wear more than they should. So, you'll have to visit the service centre more frequently if your car is on CNG and will have to keep a check on how your car’s engine is running. That's it.
