When a person, man or woman, begins to think they have a call from God or are called by God what's the first thing they should do?

1. Is it to tell their pastor or a man of God
2. Is it to quit their jobs and open a church or start a ministry
3. Is it to go to Bible college or the like


I believe the very first step to take is to verify that it is the true God calling you. Believe me when I tell you this, the devil is in the business of "calling people". Today you may hear someone you least expect to announce they are now pastors or women of God. It is a thing of joy when a soul heeds the voice of God, but it becomes worrying when, no offense even unrepentant people, some so called celebrities announce they are now pastors or preachers. I too rejoice when unbelievers repent but to make a huge jump from altar call to mounting the altar should be discouraged when there's no verification of a genuine call from God. Even Saul took years to become apostle Paul.

When seeking verification, this is another place of possible deception. Genuine men of God are aware to be careful of the laying of hands and whom they appoint into ministry. When we look at option 1 above, going to a man of God, apart knowing if this man is genuine when you're truly called of God there's a witness in your spirit about whom the Lord will send your way or whom the Lord will direct you to. Secondly you must check if the said man of God has a recorded of just appointing and laying hands on just anybody. Paul spoke about the support he got from Peter, a man who refused to lay hands on Simon even after been offered money.

You don't want your call to be questionable, so no matter how popular a said man of God is, if he has a record of appointing fakes don't go to them for verification.


Some verify their call from God through manifestation. Now not all manifestations comes from God, for the devil sends false prophets and teachers working diverse miracles and signs. Remember God told Moses if a man says something and it doesn't come to pass that man is fake, now but what if it comes to pass, God then said that he will let false prophets to go and test his people. The second verification God revealed was to check whom these men are leading the people to. Do they lead you to worship the true God or idols. Do they lead you away.

Now if there are manifestations after your calling, praise God, if there is a conviction of sin and a supernatural nudge for righteousness and holiness that doesn't result in condemnation but salvation that it's the Holy Spirit at work with you. A person can preach righteousness and still be false, because there is no conversion and no true salvation of souls. Only the Lord God Almighty saves.

Now in the question of quitting anything, it must be on God's direction and not on man's opinion (including yours). But this is what the scripture says, any man who doesn't forsake all and follow Jesus cannot be his disciple. So being a disciple of Christ Jesus is not dependent on a call but on one forsaking all, picking up his cross and following Jesus. So you may not have heard a voice nor seen a vision or dream and still be qualified to be his disciple.


Now the third action one may take after thinking they are called may be going for training, be it at a Bible college, under a man of God or to some mountain. Now this direction should be based on God's leading (assuming it's God's calling). Now do listen, stepping your young foot on the wrong ground can pollute you. Many men are ministrying under the influence of a man's spirit and not God's spirit. Whatever functions in the life of a man you submit to may influence you also. So a genuine calling may become corrupted with the wrong teachings but the Holy Spirit won't let God's children go the wrong path easily. The problem also is that one who may have been deceived will get encouragement to go ahead and become a "servant of God".

Not saying discouragement is a good thing, but it is important to discourage those who have the wrong motives or spirits from ministrying to God's people. Now how you react to discouragement may even verify you are genuinely called by God. Humility is the right reaction and God responds by pouring more grace to encourage. But a forceful determination may be driven by ego and flesh.

the bible never Said it is a sin to pray in public place. That was how you said Ezekiel 34 is up to 32, where as it stop at 31. That is how you go and mis interpret the bible.

God's call went out from almost 2000 years ago to all of the Lost sheep of Israel when the Kingdom of God became available and every single person called was called by God to becoming a priest in His Special Nation of Priests- Exodus 19 vs 6.
