Did it suddenly become a scam because we remembered the people who fought against it in 2012.

Very good that you remember, now it’s your turn to protest now.

This is a damned revelation. Now that the subsidy has been removed why can't the government probe NNPCL as well as all the cabal associated with this killer monster called subsidy

At least squeezing these corrupt people will at least return some monies into circulation if not directly to the government cover but indirectly into the hands of lawyers and prosecutors they would engage to defend them.

This is one reason why I support Atiku and Obi-'s petition at least it would make the politician share parts of their loot with the lawyers defending them.

Nigeria needs a Revolution

So that we can sell fuel at a loss again, and the subsidy cabals and smugglers come back into business?

Oga, if you are organizing a revolution because you want prices to be cheaper, you are setting the stage for long queues and chronic scarcity.

The problem is, people have to make money.

What you are calling for has been tried before in many countries...and it always failed.

Fuel is selling for 850 per little in disguise of 560 per little. To confirm it buy fuel in 4liter gallon.

[quote author=Corporate2020 post=124050747]Okay nah. Not one President, but 5 coward idiotic nincompoopic Presidents.

What General Abdulsalami Abubakar, General Olusegun Obasanjo, General Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Umar Yar’Adua and Dr (Deacon) Goatluck Jonathan could not do over combined 26 years, Emilokan Adekunle Bola Ahmed Tinubu did it in the first 30 minutes of his government. Now, we know the real GENERAL.

You have suddenly developed selective amnesia that it was these same people that prevented Jonathan from removing subsidy and almost collapsing the country

Because it is virtually impossible to do so.

All countries with subsides like Nigeria have massive smuggling issues. Libya is even using airstrikes on smugglers dens to try to stop them self. Iran loses millions as people smuggle fuel to places like Pakistan. Even Saudi has a problem with smuggling of diesel self.

What are you talking about? Not a revolution for cheaper fuel lol, that’s not even a revolution.

I think what he meant is a revolution to halt the fraudulent activities of the government/civil service and make a new constitution by the people and for the people.

The guy also wants cheaper fuel too.

I know Nigerians very well. Minute prices goes up, everyone is calling for a revolution, lol.

It's almost like Nigerians don't understand why prices have to go up sometimes. Companies do not exist to suck up money into one rich Alhaji;s pocket....they have to pay for a host of stuff.

Your action maybe painful today but think about those that will benefit from it tomorrow?

Was this your position in 2012 when a certain Goodluck Jonathan tried to remove subsidy? A certain Bola vehemently opposed the "lesser pain" that Nigerians would have had to endure then

I salute Baba Tinubu even though I didn't vote him and won't vote him. I salute his sincerity, people who are cursing him on twitter are hypocrite, discuss issues and not frustration. I am expectant that the fraudulent election will be cancelled.

Did they not remove subsidy and deregulate the market seven years ago?

For how long will we allow ourselves to be fooled by these looters who we hail as leaders, in our parochial tribesmen mentality?

Subsidy removal: Tinubu backs Buhari, Falana condemns price hike

13th May 2016

A former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has described the decision of the President Buhari-led Federal Government to remove petrol subsidy as courageous.

The government, through the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, on Wednesday, *announced the removal of the subsidy on petrol,* pegging the upper limit at N145 per litre from N86.50k.

In a statement in Lagos on Thursday, Tinubu said though the decision was a difficult one, it would ultimately become beneficial to the generality of the people instead of enriching the pockets of a few Nigerians, who enjoyed the fraud of the subsidy regime.

Osinbajo: We’ve saved N1.4trn by not paying fuel subsidy

AUGUST 25, 2016

Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo says the federal government has saved N1.4 trillion for not paying oil subsidy.

Speaking in Kano on Thursday during the third day of the 15th Joint Planning Board and National Council on development meeting, Osinbajo urged Nigerians not to lose faith in Buhari’s administration, saying the president would fix the economy.

“*With the deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector*, there has been a significant increase in the availability of petrol throughout the country for the savings of N1.4 trillion on subsidy payments alone,” Osinbajo said.
