He said he was shocked when the motorcyclist walked up to him one day and asked that he educates him on how to carry out internet fraud popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ He said the motorcyclist told him he was always home and made so much money so he believed he was into fraud. The Techie said he rebuked the motorcyclist and dismissed him.

He said two months ago, the same motorcyclist he had always trusted, organised people to rob him in his house.

Most Nigerians repay generosity with ungratefulness or worse, evil. Once you're generous most people see you as a stupid person; if you're courteous you're perceived as weak or of a lower cadre to them.

Me no dey dash person pass ₦500, if dem plenty, I fit drop 1k or 2k
I prefer dey say make dem dey argue, e get money, e no get, e dey stingy, etc.
If I take you as my regular customer and I noticed you are overcharging me, Na to just withdraw from you, and I go tell you sey your price is out of my league.
One thing I noticed is that those you are giving, the day you need their help, they go still collect before helping, so why give?

In general, It is very wrong allowing every Tom, Dick and Harry into your house or space.
Your house should be treated like a Military base.

I was like the OP in the past,
I brought all type, class and shape of our Melanin sisters into my house for some intimate knacking session, until they started stealing my things and started doing house wife duties to cage and steal me from my lovely queen (My wife).

My rules: They are people I only receive at my gate (by my gateman), they are some we can only sit by the garden or pool side, they are some we can only talk at the sitting room, while others should or might never know were I live.

These are very brutal times in Nigeria. The new president has even reinforced the brutality 77x7 times.

As you are trying hard to put smile on their faces, they are desperate to put tears on yours.
They usually think you are too weak or lazy to be blessed, that they deserve the blessings more.
They derive their inspiration from their mentor (Satan), the same satan who thought Adam didn't deserve the honor God gave him.

I had already learnt this lesson while in Nursery school. It amazes me how I'm still able to remember virtually everything (even the perfume permeating the air et al) that transpired the day I decided to show a little kindness to a classmate because he said I should give him small. Brethens, I don't know if it was because of the Sunday school lessons of the previous Sunday or if it was the morning devotion that made me decided to test this show of kindness, I kid you not, till this day (in Deontay Wilder's voice), I will never forget the experience.

That was how one became two and I was almost mobbed, they wouldn't even let me eat my break food in peace because I was hungry too. Different guilt tripping emotional tactics to get from me what some turned out to have, some even came multiple times. If you didn't bulge, they go "ok, I won't be your friend again", and that's coming from someone who wasn't even my friend to begin with.

I ended up sharing it to everyone that wanted it, thinking they would be satisfied. I got the shocker of my then short life, lols. They cursed me out saying they didn't even get anything, people that just several seconds ago were just nibbling out my lunch like piranhas in an eating frenzy.

Of course I cried that not only did I get not to eat my lunch while hungry my self, but that even after helping they didn't acknowledge that I help them and cursed me out for it.

I was now hungry, traumatized (effing brutal something for a <4 year old, the things that were said? Hmm), got mobbed (they even mobbed off my flask and water bottle from my possession, lols) but also gained more enemies than friends (shit seemed to get worse the more I tried to explain and ask them didn't they remember when I cut for them just now?)

I learnt a great lesson that day about human psychology. Since that day, I see through everything, It won't matter if you use religion or blackmail to pyscho-babble your way. I will do what I intend to do strategically at all times with self preservation in mind. It pays to have a minimum amount of selfishness, especially if you haven't stood well and are considering rendering help.

Yeah, I think about that too. The only disadvantage would be that if one of them decide just randomly on first meet that one is a worthy target your radius of investigative net would be wider.

In the military, they tend to have and orderly or batman/batmen as they were called. That way the search net is smaller, even if the the culprit decided to outsource the deed out, one perceptive enough could reasonably link 1 and 2 together and form a reasonable haunch (I'm not talking about just blindly accusing anyone, although there are ways the military police can get it out of them, lols)

7-if you have 1 million naira, hypothetically speaking, and the rent is between a 3 bedroom in ebute metta or a studio flat in ikoyi, always choose ikoyi. its about the location not the size of your house, always aspire to be around rich people . those places are heavily protected
