Akwa Ibom NPC Commissioner Attends Farewell Party for Outgoing UNFPA Resident Representative

Abuja, Nigeria - Chief Engr Benedict Ukpong FNSE, Okete Okete Oro, the Federal Commissioner for the National Population Commission in Akwa Ibom State, attended a farewell party in honor of the outgoing Resident Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Nigeria, Ms. Ulla Elisabeth Mueller, on July 4, 2023.

The party was held at The Vue Restaurant in Abuja and was attended by government officials, diplomats, and members of the UN family. In his remarks, Chief Ukpong thanked Ms. Mueller for her dedicated service to Nigeria and UNFPA. He said that she had made significant contributions to the country's population and development agenda.

Ms. Mueller thanked the government and people of Nigeria for their support during her tenure. She said that she was proud of the work that she had done with UNFPA in Nigeria. She also expressed her confidence that Nigeria would continue to make progress in the area of population and development.

The farewell party was a warm and festive occasion. It was an opportunity to celebrate Ms. Mueller's achievements and to wish her well in her future endeavors.
