Pranks were probably inspired by ancient festivals like "the Roman Hilaria," when people dressed up in disguises at the end of March.
There were also reports that it was once called a "practical joke", which is also used today, and was first used in 1804.

In the past, it was usually done in secluded places and easily controlled.
However, social media, which facilitates the emergence of several artists, has made their creation easier and more difficult to regulate.

Pranking which has become a part of the skit making industry is not only applicable in the Nigerian social space.
It has become an artistic tool to entertain people all over the world

Concerns and public opinion continue to arise about this form of skit making and has continue to spark discussion.

In this video we will look at the ethical, economical and political implications of some prank stars' approach to pranks in Nigeria.
