I thought as much. God bless you.

If he has a job that pays something as huge as 450k as he claims to do, he definitely must have some skills or some top-notch expertise/certification...
You guys don't get it. Working for others is a risk. U can get dropped. He wants a skill as back up

how is 450k much?depends on the load on him.I make more than that weekly yet I’m not finding bills easy
God bless you sir. I don't mean to diss anyone. 450k salary is not really a biggie. When I lost my job in access bank in 2017, I was earning 90k salary and saw people earning 300k salary and above as big men(maybe they were in 2017).

Fast forward to 2020 immediately after Covid19, I had my breakthrough and started making more than 300k profit from my POS business every month. I've not made less than 260k since then, and am still not okay at all. I'm always afraid just like the OP.

There were months I made more than 400k sef( plenty times) and still have not done many things maybe except my moderate marriage that took 1.7M last year.

I understand the OP very well. If you're not making the money, it looks a big deal, when you start making it, you'll realise you need more stream of income.

I'm also looking out for skill to horn while am doing my POS business sideways and wouldn't mind if anyone can share.

OP, I understand your plight very well. The rate at which Naira has deteriorated is not helping matters too.

450k is huge, especially in this country.

My advice is for you to learn how to save.

Cut down your expenses, don’t spend recklessly, don’t compete with co-workers and don’t try to impress anybody (including women).

Rent an affordable apartment, start up a business.

(Don’t start building any house immediately, because it’s a liability). It will only tie your wealth in one spot.

Imagine building a house with 30-50m in Lagos, only to get at least 2m yearly as a rent. How long will it take to get back the capital

A House is a long term investment + retirement plan.

Start a business first!

Have you forgotten they are people who only build, put like 10M naira on top and sell the house?

Can you suggest some areas please

Your expenses will always grow quickly to match your income. Many people in Nigeria will see N450k/month as a windfall.

I know people who make N400k/month with family and are surviving. Then I know a spinster in the Island who makes about N1.2m/month with no family and she is always complaining financially.

Go figure!

I don't believe a company is paying you N450k/month with no skills. It is fair to guess that you are engaged in an illegitimate enterprise.

Oil company direct employ not contract pays more than that .

Those saying 450K is more than enough to buy a land and start building do not really understand how expensive things are in Nigeria today. I earn slightly above what the OP mentioned, but believe you me, it's not been easy. If you live in Lagos, Abuja or PH and you are married with kids, you will understand. A 2 bedroom flat in an average neighborhood is over 700K. Cost of fuel and car maintenance is over 60/70K monthly in recent times. School fees for 2/3 children is over 200K per term (600/800K annually). Feeding takes over 100K monthly. Utilities and other miscellaneous dey ooo. Best thing na just to save enough and japa.
Oil Dey your head jare. I come Dey wonder if the 450k Na 4.5m….. ppl only have those opinions cos they don’t earn that amount yet, when they start earning it, they’ll realize the comfort they anticipated is just a mirage

Building houses is also a business, the secured one for that matter.

Business is very risky in this present state of Nigeria, you can lose everything in a blink of eyes if care is not taking. Someone like him should invest in real estate rather than creating a business he won't have time to monitor 100%.

He should also build his own house now that he has the chance. If his business crumble or he got sack from his work, he won't have to worry about bogus house rent that may give him depression. Besides, he can decide to sell the house and start afresh.

In a year time you should have a land in a choice location what this salary.

Within 3 years you should have put a foundation of mini duplex and have side investment.

I don’t know what skills you are talking about again. I doubt if any skills will give you that much in today Nigeria. Just try saving for now as you already have a paying job.

Not that easy with the way u are saying it,what of if he has a wife and children, will he not take care of his family, will he not send his children to average school? The last place I worked I earn 315 on Monthly basis, and I have a house to my self,by the time house expenses is done with and children school fees, you will only have something to take u to the next paying day,I also have a car and a jeep o

What kind of vehicle do you use that 70k takes you for 1 month?
As I use more than 100k fueling 2 vehicles weekly. One does less walka than the other if not, it would have been almost 150-200k weekly.
Omo, naija is not easy now.

Someone making 450k in this economy is better off than so many people.

I will advise you to cut down on your expenses,

As much as you don't like online skills, but learning a high income digital skills will give you the liberty and flexibility to also work at your job and also make crazy money online.

Or you can start a business offline or online depending on you, especially online business like Affiliate marketing where since you don't yet have any product or service you recommend experts information products to those who need it and get paid a commission for each sale you make.
Not only that but through this business model you will learn high income skills like lead generation, sales closing, landing page creation, paid advertisment and so on which will help you build your own business online or recommend this skills as service to people and get paid for it.

If you want to know more about this message me on WhatsApp.
