Formerly known as 'Jingo,' Dipo Fasina, a previous President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has been reported missing, as per PREMIUM TIMES. Dr. Fasina's disappearance occurred on Saturday, July 1, 2023, while he was en route to Algeria, following an invitation from the Algerian government. Unfortunately, he failed to catch his connecting flight in Istanbul, Turkey. Presently, his whereabouts remain unknown, leaving everyone concerned about his safety.  Prof. Emmanuel Sodeke, the current ASUU president, acknowledged in an interview with PREMIUM TIMES that Dr. Fasina's location is currently untraceable. However, he reassured that the lecturers' union is putting in significant efforts to ensure his safe return home. In a phone conversation with PREMIUM TIMES, Osodeke affirmed, "Yes, we are aware of the situation, and we are actively addressing it. How can you miss your connecting flight and then get totally missing ? Did he step out of the airport with a transit visa? Proper checks through the airline office should reveal his whereabout. |
