Organised Crime - According to a source, the airfield lighting components were carted away by some workers at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in connivance with some outsiders who have access to the runway site.

STOP THE BLAME GAME,
In advance countries there are people monitoring CCTV 24/7. Usually they rotate the job. Which is also part of creating short time Job.
But in Nigeria you look into the CCTV after a crime is committed for proper investigation.

Most problem in this country can be corrected by applying the right measure's.

But they won't, because we have leaders that don't have foresight.
No one cares because it's not there private property.

Such news should be so shameful to announce to the public. Imagine security breached in an airport run way, meaning humans are not even safe at the airport. So no security patrolling the perimeters of the airport. It is really shameful.

Tinubu is promising security for the whole of west Africa when he has been unable to secure Nigeria.

Tinubu is turning out to be yet another useless president, dozens of youth were killed in Benue last week, yet no word from him.

After they steal the infrastructure then they will start complaining that things are not working in the airport as compared to foreign airports.

This is why I STOPPED criticizing politicians a long time ago. Nigerian citizens are WORSE than politicians

Maybe the same person who will rescue the Yorubas who are having their flat heads minned on daily basis in Ogun State and southwest. If the killings continue like this who will vote Tinubu in 2027

Lol ... The Authority should look into the company that supplied the components.

Equipments such as these are not what can be hawked or purchased from roadsides.

Have I not told you folks that 'Contractors' and 'Contracting' has been the bane of the Nigerian State.
They have corrupted individuals in leadership positions, corrupted institutions that superintend over their activities and sucked the life blood of this country like Amazonian leeches.

I just don't get it. Why does the FAAN require 'Contractors' to light up its runway. Doesn't it know where these so called lights are sold? Can't it go there to buy them and instal them for itself?

Of course it can't. Their staff are busy making money or idly playing politics in their offices. Lazy Nigerian bureaucracy that will outsource their jobs at twice the cost to the taxpayer.

Honestly we badly, badly need this country restructured for amongst other things to end this terrible 'Contracting' and 'Outsourcing' and in this new regime "Consultation' culture because it is draining our resources, spurring horrendous corruption and breeding a generation of slaves in authority, mentally lazy folks who cannot as much clean their own lavatories.

Until then, the suffering must continue till we 'get sense'.
When a man loses his job and goes about borrowing to feed his family it is he that presents himself to labour as a houseboy not employing the son or daughter of his lender.

In our present economic challenges any serious government will make moves to end outsourcing of any goods and services that are not ultra high tech in nature except if such goods or services are self financed and such works turnkey for PPP.

If the lousy FAAN is wise they should insist the so called Contractor instal and operate those facilities and get paid for their services by patronage, not the taxpayer and see the debacle end.

Bloody round trippers. They are waiting for the next 'Contract' to bring back what they have stolen.

Yes, you stopped criticizing them because they are tin gods.... people elected to drive in convoys and enjoy the trappings of power, not to lead and change the narrative of the hapless society they claim to serve by wisdom and depth of witty ideas 'out of the box'.

Me, I cannot. I watch international news every waking day and I see how citizens of other nations hold their leaders to account minute by minute, day by day until mandates are delivered and promises are cashed.
