The immediate past Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has been appointed as a Global Adviser for Global Energy Alliance for People & Planet, GEAPP.

This was made known in a Tweet by Laolu Akande, the former SSA to the former Vice President on Media and Publicity.

"Immediate past VP Osinbajo heads to Sierra Leone today as Chair of 12-person Commonwealth Observer Group for the country’s elections. He"ll address Press Conf. on Monday & be in the country for the rest of the month. Later, the Osinbajo- COG will report on election's credibility.", the Tweet reads.

This is mostly due to his commitment to a Just Energy Transition in Africa.

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) is an alliance of philanthropy, local entrepreneurs, governments, and technology, policy, and financing partners.

Our common mission is to support developing countries’ shift to a clean energy, pro-growth model that ensures universal energy access, unlocking a new era of inclusive economic growth, while enabling the global community to meet critical climate goals during the next decade.
