EFCC under Waziri is only for yahoo and other petty petty financial crimes not for big corrupt cases like those of former governors and Bankole. What do you expect from a person that was a surety to one accused governor heading EFCC?

This madam WAZIRI needs to be sacked, she makes too much noise without any output mtcheeeeeeeeew
The problem with her is that any time effectiveness of efcc is being on question, the lady tries to make some noise by arresting certain corrupt political figures and after some times the seriousness in pursuing the case dies down and the corrupt go home smiling.
Igosun:

Oh my god! not EFCC again with their child's play.
Exactly.
Knight1:

mshew!!!!!!!!!!!
just another further waste of government resources
and after much hype, they would be released. A lot of resources going down the drain again

Waziri is just making Ribadu look like a super hero, during his tenure he get some high profile conviction, Waziri is still trying to find her feet.

Only a fool would think that Ribadu was a (sic) hero! Which hero! Waziri to me has better pedigree and experience than Ribadu.
Ribadu was a big mess. Apart from Tafa Balogun, how many of his cases/arrests were tested in court? He was only using the EFCC to terrorise mostly people who were opposed to Obasanjo.
Was it not Ribadu who said it publicy that Bode George had no case to answer in the NPA scam?

The greatest threat to the war against corruption is the crooked judicial system we have whcoh gives too much room for the delay and manipulation of justice. Can you imagine that a high court judge gave a perpetual injunction restraining the EFCC from arresting Odili, and the appeal against that injunction is still pending till date?

Waziri is trying hard and for your information, she has recorded more convictions in court than Ribadu did in 5 years. The problem is lack of political will on the part of the FG and the crooked judicial system

Re: EFCC Arrest Gbenga Daniel, Akala And Doma. Declares Goje wanted. by Jakumo(m): 6:32pm On Oct 06, 2011
To Nigeria’s international observers, the law enforcement agency known as the EFCC, whose initials stand for “Exhibit Fall Cunning Chairman”, was established for the specific purpose of ensuring that all public officials found to have stolen state funds are COMPELLED to provide independently audited accounts showing the amount diverted, for the purpose of assessing the appropriate official and unofficial taxes, levies, service charges, royalties, gratuities, dues, subscriptions and deductions to charge each offender.

EFCC field officers wear RED jackets when sent to arrest fugitive former government officials bent on fleeing the long arm of the law so as to hog all the proceeds of their dastardly, unpatriotic crimes.  That red color signifies the red ink that will suddenly appear in all the suspect’s local and offshore bank statements, if he or she thinks they can play it off and act like there is no loot to share.

After the customary friendly chat between the offender and EFCC interrogators, subsequent to which vast sums of cash and real estate titles change hands from the arrestee to the arresters, and other supplementary bail conditions adequately met,  the offender is permitted to serve their “detention” in the luxury London digs of their choice, from their remaining portfolio.

Praise the Lord !

This is yet another form of out-door game.
We are used to this kind of news that will fade out in the next couple of days.
Is it not the same people that have planned to remove fuel subsidy by January and make prise of fuel N150?
Only God knows who is fooling who in this country. One day, I am sure there will be revolution in this country and Nigeria will be set free.

olawalebab: hope it will turn to another Bankole show

I don't understand you. Should Bankole be jailed without trial? His case is in court and I have few doubts that the phucker is headed for jail.
We Nigerians need to develop a reading habit and a long attention span, because we tend to react by instinct all the time. It isn't good.

Michael Jackson died 2 years ago, yet his doctors trial is only coming up now; the story is similar with that fool called Mutallab. Why can't we just allow the courts do their thing? We aren't running a dictatorship where people are just summarily flung in jail or made to disappear.

Bros mi, What happened to Saminu Turaki and co more than 4 yrs ago

The former governors are among the 15 ex-state executives who were invited by the EFCC to appear over allegations of money laundering and corruption, however Orji Uzor Kalu, whose mother, Eunice Kalu was also declared wanted did not honor the invitation by the EFCC claiming that he already obtained a court order from an Abia State High Court barring the EFCC from arresting or prosecuting him for corruption.
Shortly after, he traveled to the US and then the UK from where he flew to Abuja, Nigeria to participate in discussions with the ruling party in talks over the formation of a "Government of National Unity". He never made it past the airport as he was arrested at the airport and detained by EFCC operatives.

Two others, Joshua Dariye of Plateau State and Saminu Turaki of Jigawa State were also docked by the EFCC.

A source told Saharareporters that the former governor of Taraba, Reverend Jolly Nyame was not charged today because he agreed to refund N50 billion to the EFCC. Also the former governor of Enugu State and current federal Senator, Chimaroke Nnamani was said to have escaped from Nigeria overnight. He was interrogated by the EFCC yesterday but was allowed to go back home.

I wonder why some Nairalander expose their ignorance of operations judicial system and criminal justice in Nigeria. Each time any anti corruption agency arrests anyone for interogation we often presume they are guilty already and should be bundles to jail by EFCC without trial before a court. Instead of blaming our anti-corruption agencies, we should ask the judiciary what happened to all the high profile cases. We should also not forget that lack of political good will of the executive on anti corruption crusade is another thing we should cry out against.

My people! are we not saying any thing about this concluded arrangement by Jonathan and co to make fuel N150 come January 2012 by removing subsidy?
I am so worried about it because life will certainly become difficult for the poor masses.Nigerians should rise against this ugly trend.
We will pay through our nose if we keep quiet.National council of state has just approved the removal.

I dey laff o! Our judiciary is rotten to the core! If you remember the James Onanefe Ibori case you will know there is no hope from the judiciary. Even when the retired Judge who sentenced and convicted him from theft gave evidence and identified Ibori, our honorable Judge said the evidence is not enough proof to show that its the same Ibori!!!
My brother, we have a long way to go. these judges now need you to bring God from heaven as witness to prove say DAY DONE BREAK AT 10am.Mscheew.

Those cases are not EFCC business; we should be asking questions about our judiciary.
