Over 7 or 8 years ago one of the first videos of combat between soldiers and boko haram in Maiduguri surfaced on the web. The bokos had the upper hand and the soldiers retreated under heavy fire and ran back into the mountains - with the bokos in hot pursuit. There are many of these videos online. Don't come here and lie that "they don't run". It simply isn't true.

Did you hear the part where they said they cautioned the soldier for parking and blocking the road?
The point is avoid the wahala, avoid the confrontation, then you can survive intact to report the guy and make him lose his job.
Note that if they brutalize you, you then make him loose his job, that humiliation, tooth, rib or limb they have broken in your body cannot be undone.

Read your 4th line; " under heavy fire" its allowed to retreat at that circumstance, it does mean they are cowards as you want to paint it go & read any military engagement rules.

This has absolutely nothing to do with 'returnees' and 'home based'. There are hundreds of thousands of Nigeria based motorists who will speak up if their lives are being threatened by dangerous drivers.

Okay...so the issue is semantics? Are we going to split hairs over the difference between 'retreated' and 'ran'?

At the end of the video I mentioned, the bokos eventually stopped the chase and just watched and laughed as the soldiers ran into the mountains. I was even a bit concerned that they might be hit before making it to safety (as they were clearly exhausted) but they were able to make it. I didn't make this story up - this video was all over the web at the time.
