The agitation for the independence of the Yoruba people of South West has been on for a long time.
However, the movement was compromised from within by elements who feel that since the presidency will be zoned to the south, it is likely going to be the Yorubas' turn. Hence, any seccesion attempt will jeopardize their chance of getting into power.

1. Sunday Igboho
Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho is a prominent political thug and activist with a strong grassroots pedigree. He was outspoken against the killings and criminal activities of Fulani herdsmen. These made him more popular with Yoruba nation agitators and politicians who are using the crisis as a leverage to force the north to cede power to the south (southwest).
Sunday Igboho is the leader of the political sleeper cell embedded within the Yoruba nation movement.

2. Professor Banji Akintoye
A renowned professor of history, Banji Akintoye was instrumental in the division of the organisation that formed the YORUBA GOVERNMENT IN EXILE.
He later went and established Ìlànà Ọmọ Oódua along with Professor Wale Adeniran. 90% of media propagandists of the Yoruba nation movement were loyal to him at a certain point in the struggle. Banji Akintoye is a politician who believes in regionalism as a viable alternative to separation.

3. Dupe Onitiri
Dupe, a prominent politician who is a member of the Onitiri family of Lagos is one of the wives of late MKO Abiola. She herself once contested for the governorship seat of Lagos state. She penetrated the Yoruba nation movement by using the imprisonment and murder of MKO Abiola as leverage. She presented herself as a hater of northern hegemony.
In 2021/2022, she came up with the infamous 5 million petition and made gullible Yoruba men and women, home and abroad believe that the Yoruba nation can be achieved by obtaining 5 million signatures, and that the United Nations will accept and recognise the independence of the Yoruba nation once a declaration is made.
There was an opposition by the Yoruba Government in Exile, which infact has become a fringe organisation as at the time Dupe joined the movement.
By this time, the media wing of the movement were all in support of the petition; insulting and castigating anyone who dares to question it.
She did made the declaration and rented some youths to hijack a radio station in Ibadan. Those youths are still cooling off in jail.

4. Others
a. Awikonko, a fulani looking Yoruba poet.
Initially, Awikonko was against Yoruba indipendence. Instead he was in support of restructuring. However, he got his chance to infiltrate the movement after faking his arrest by police. Yoruba nation movement agitators rallied round him in a show of solidarity, not knowing that Awikonko is a Trojan horse.

b. Omiyale, a political son of Sunday Igboho, was one of those arrested during the well orchestrated SSS raid of Igboho's Ibadan mansion.
He looked more chubby, robust and fresh when he was released from custody. This, coupled with his inconsistent account of events would later expose him as a traitor of the struggle. Some even believe that he is a mole of the secret service.
Omiyale and Awikonko, in the company of the famous Lagos agbero, MC Oluomo, was part of the delegation that visited Tinubu after his victory at the polls.

5. Useful idiots
Some useful idiots such as Omoluka, Teni Omo ologo, Yeye Dara, Gbagede Imo (Adebayo Sabur), Baba aropo ire, to mention just a few played a fools role in this plot. To be honest, most media activist who were loyal to Sunday Igboho were fooled, fooling more people in return.


Many others played different roles which will not be presented in this exposé.

Notable mention:
Pastor Bankole, who is fond of giving out his phone number for SSS to call him. He said he can pass through walls. He vowed that there was not going to be election in Ekiti and Osun states, but elections held. In December 2022, he arranged his own arrest as a way of retiring himself from the sabotage plot.

There is a common belief by other Nigerian tribes that Yorubas are traitors. Events of the last two years proves a lot of things.
