I'd say people understand gay people more than they understand Trans people.

LGBTQI+ stands for all sorts of different people that are not heterosexual.

Gay men stand out because we were the most prosecuted for the longest time in history and had to fight for our rights. Straight men find lesbians attractive because it's part of their sexual fantasies -its acceptable because it please heterosexual men. Which is what we will destroy as part of woke culture - and They're afraid of.

Through gay and lesbian awareness other people have also become bolder to speak out - such as Trans and Bisexual people. That's why the term was extended beyond just talking about gay people, but LGBTQI+
