Super Eagles striker, Ahmed Musa has reportedly lowered the pump price of petrol at his filling stations amid hike in fuel prices across Nigeria, Newspremises reports.

The cost of petrol at various Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) stations in most part of the country increased to N617 per litre, last Tuesday, 15th of July 2023.

This occurred after a study of pump prices for petroleum products that was underway for several months.

Nigerian president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the removal of petrol subsidy in his inaugural speech on May 29.


An immediate statewide spike in pump prices from below N200 per litre to between N480 and N570 per litre was caused by the announcement.

Musa declared that all of his MYCA-7 filling stations would continue to sell fuel at N580 despite the price rising to N617 per litre.

He tweeted:

“Fuel, N580 MYCA-7 Filling Station Kano.”

The former Leicester City attacker is said to be one of the richest footballers in his homeland with an estimated fortune of £13.6 million, SunSport reports.

He bought a gas station in 2018 and was seen filling up a tricycle by himself. In the northern part of Nigeria, he also operates a sports and fitness facility with all-weather football fields.
