Chelsea Turn Down £40m Bid From West Ham For Conor Gallagher by DonBabaNG: 10:50am On Jul 25, 2023 |
West Ham have had a £40m bid for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher rejected and are expected to make an improved offer. Gallagher has been lined with a move away from Chelsea throughout the summer, with Liverpool, Newcastle, and West Ham all taking a keen interest in the midfielder. Chelsea's Gallagher on the move? The 23-year-old who scored in the Blues pre-season win over Brighton is believed to want to stay and fight for his shirt at Stamford Bridge but the arrival of Moises Caicedo will further limit his chances. According to the Telegraph, West Ham have firmed up their interest by making a bid worth around £40m for Gallagher, a bid that was immediately turned down. The Hammers are looking to strengthen their midfield after losing their captain Declan Rice, who moved to title contenders Arsenal for £105m. Gallagher came through the academy at Chelsea but really made a name for himself while on loan at Crystal Palace in the 2021/22 season. He made 35 appearances in the league for Chelsea last season.
