A young woman was found dead in a swimming pool at a hotel in Awka, Nigeria, after she was allegedly accused of stealing money at a party.

The woman, identified as Chinyere Awuda, was found on July 17th, 2023.

Initial reports say that she had been beaten by some of the partygoers who accused her of stealing money that had been sprayed on the celebrant.

However, an autopsy conducted by police shows no signs of trauma on Awuda's body, leading police to believe that she drowned in the swimming pool.

The police are still investigating the incident, but they believe that Awuda may have fallen into the pool while trying to escape from her attackers.
