I don't see why you are here wasting your time. They are going to get what they've demanded anyways. wink

Frankly, the only sensible point being made by aribisala0, which must be resounded, is the fact that current geopolitical zones have outlived their use.
They were created (through the inspiration of an Igboman -Alex Ekwueme) to demostrate to the minorities in Nigeria (especially Eastern minorities) that Igbo man is not trying to throw them under the bus or swallow them up.

It was an incongruous overkill (if you ask me); all to make a point.

Well, the point has been made. Only foolish Nigerians would still advocate this nebulous and unwieldy political concoction which attempts -predictably in utter futility- to string together the strangest of bedfellows.
The minimum that must happen is that we return to regions.
Even if we maintain the current geopolitical names, the states constituting each zone needs to be reviewed.
Else, if we must maintain same zones, then, the zones MUST have equal name of states. Simple.

State creations in Nigeria have been based on politics and shall remain so. The nonsensical talk of the size of acreage and population of particular place as yardsticks for creation of state is a bad case of disingenuous.

If such non-political starters were employed by readily referenced USA, states such Rhode Island should not have be created. Nigerians always yearn loudly for unity and democracy yet they readily kick against the rudimentary aspects of the system which are equity and justice.

Again, if Nigerians could not balance their political acts to usher equity and justice, I say disintegrate the cesspit called Nigeria.

Bros, Nigeria shall not go back regional outfit. Since the inception of moronic geopolitical zone in Nigeria and Ndigbo have been left with considerable less number of states than other zones, nobody has questioned validity of zones as national cake was being shared on state-based formula.

Now that Ndigbo have pointed out the inequality that existed with geopolitical zone with regard to number of states, knuckleheads are walking out of backwater to posit juvenile reasons why democracy is not suitable for Nigeria.
