I can give you at least one civilian leader whose hands reach far even into our present age:
1. Obafemi Awolowo, even though he wasn't Nigeria's president he set the precedent for free education we've all come to know in Nigeria.
2. Almost everyone I know agrees that Umar Musa Yar'Adua would have progressed Nigeria on the right path. If you have a counter opinion to this, you can voice it.
I still repeat, give me 2 examples of a military leader in Nigeria that was good.

Our political leaders in Africa are corrupt quite alright, but their military counterparts haven't done any better when they came to power too. The military regimes even enjoy more power than the politicians sef. For an African country to sit straight, you just need the judiciary to start the momentum at worst. Once the judiciary is out of the grasp of the political leaders, their power is limited to some extent. Is their any hope of such if the leaders are appointed by military regimes??
