Libya Update: Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte 'close to falling'
Interim government forces in Libya have made significant gains in the battle for the city of Sirte - hometown of the fugitive leader Col Muammar Gaddafi.

National Transitional Council (NTC) commanders said they had captured the main hospital, the university and the Ouagadougou conference centre. But heavy street fighting continues around Sirte city centre. Once Sirte falls, the NTC say they will declare national liberation, even if Col Gaddafi remains at large. Pro-Gaddafi forces also control the desert enclave of Bani Walid, but it is seen as less significant as it does not lead to any exit routes from the country.

In August, members of Col Gaddafi's family and his inner circle fled to neighbouring Algeria and Niger. "I do believe, God willing, that the liberation of these cities [Sirte and Bani Walid] will happen within this week," NTC chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil told reporters in Tripoli.

The price of fuel in war torn Libya is cheaper than Nigeria's . The Libyan national football team qualified for the african nations cup, the super eagles of Nigeria could not. I think it is Nigeria that is actually close to falling

you must be dreaming to think the lies you read is the truth on ground, Their is no liberation going on in Libya, what we have is violation, But one good thing about the whole issue is that the libyan people have vow to fight till victory, If you think the lies of TNC is what you hold on to, you must be dreaming because those two places will never be won by them,

yes they will,

According to CBS, the rebels are randomly firing at every building in the last two remaining neighborhoods where libyan forces are.

They will continiously fire until the buildings dont exist anymore, or they run out of ammo.

It has also been reported that NATO is bombing the houses in the neighborhoods. Recently, Canadian pilots returned from their mission without dropping bombs because the targets could have killed civilians. At least canadians have a conscience, they cant commit these crimes anymore.
