The senior special assistant to the President on Media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale has expressed that under his leadership no negative sentiments will be altered toward Nigerians

“Gone forever, by the grace of God, are the days when government spokesmen and women will speak down to Nigerians or would use condescending language on Nigerians and would display some form of institutional arrogance on Nigerians. That would not happen under my leadership.”

This statement has raised concerns about the integrity and character of the previous spokespersons to Former president Muhamadu Buhari especially as it directly insinuates that former spokespeople to past Presidents have a history of speaking down on Nigerians.

In a press release issued by the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity. Ajuri expressed his commitment to refrain from displaying any negative sentiments towards Nigerians.

This development has sparked widespread discussion both offline and online among citizens, who find themselves able to relate to Ajuri’s remarks. It is worth noting that former media aides to the past president had faced backlash for their controversial comments, with many feeling betrayed and let down by their failure to represent the interests of the public.

The new media aide to the president, however, has garnered praise for his outspoken condemnation of such attitudes and his promise to put an end to them under his leadership. Speaking on the matter, Ngelale, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, emphasized the importance of open access to information for all Nigerians.

Ngelale stated, “This institution belongs to Nigerians, not to any political party or public official. It is the right of every Nigerian to have full access to information about the affairs of the presidential villa and the offices of the president and vice president, both within the country and abroad.”

He further pledged to improve transparency by providing greater access to information for various media outlets, including radio networks, television networks, newspapers, and online news media.

Ngelale added, that the government i committed to adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards any spokesperson or media functionary that speaks condescendingly or arrogantly to Nigerians. He made it clear that under his leadership, government spokespeople will no longer belittle or undermine the Nigerian people.”

He concluded by expressing his determination to ensure a new era in which government officials treat Nigerians with respect and dignity.
