JULIA-GEE SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENT WINS IGBO LANGUAGE SPELLING BEE COMPETITION -Nairaland .

Efforts to rescue the Igbo Language and Culture from going into extinction was again, brought to fore with the holding of a Spelling Bee competition in Enugu State.
The event which had students from secondary schools across the state took place on 12th July 2023 at National Museum of Unity, Enugu.
The competition which was organized by National Museum of Unity, Enugu in collaboration with Ogbonna Peace, a National Youths Corp member serving in the state saw Miss Igwe Chinaza of Julia-Gee Secondary School, Enugu emerge tops in the competition.
Receiving the winner in her office, the proprietor of the school Princess Juliana Nkiru Nnaji eulogized Miss Igwe for her resourcefulness, the honour and recognition she brought to the school and enjoined other students to follow her foot steps. She was full of joy that the School is contributing significantly to the overall education and human development in the nation and pledged to continue to do their best to nurture children to responsible leaders
The winner got books and other learning materials from the organizers and cash gift from the school management.
The Spelling Bee Competition with the theme: ' Unifying Nigerian Cultural Heritage" was aimed at rekindling and stimulating interest in Igbo Language and culture especially among the young ones.
