Basketball played with a Soccer ball, with millions of players and lovers across the globe and the greatest fan base in the world in America, basketball is one of the most well-liked sports in the world. But the majority of people are ignorant of a known fact.
Here is a little history, the game of basketball was invented by a physical education professor by name James Naismith from Canada in December 1891.  

As an instructor at International YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, he was looking for a new sporting event to keep his students engaged during the winter months.

Naismith initially used a soccer ball and two peach baskets and the baskets served as the goals.

The idea of the game was to throw the ball into the opposing team's basket, then points will be awarded for every successful shot.

In December 1891, the first basketball game was played in December with a total of nine players from each team.

The basketball sporting event will instantly become an instant success and soon the basketball game will be played at YMCA’s campuses and other athletic clubs around the country.
