I can advice you to go for public school because you’ll have time to organize extra lessons for some students which can earn you extra token also, you’ll be giving loan by the government, pension still available for you after your 35 years of service. Public school can also make you to run for other things
Don’t think of present situation in private school, public is more reliable and have good ending then public

I have turned down some private company jobs that were willing to pay me twice the amount I'm currently earning reasons being that; 1) it gives me time for self development 2) it gives me time for my side hustles 3) It gives me time for vacations and most importantly, 4) it gives me time for my family..
Guy u will see the differential in the salary as a big deal, but with time u will need time and energy for some side hustles. A private school job will not give u time. Remember that time is money.

You've said it all, job security. With your 100k salary from private school, no bank will give you any facility (loan) because the job has no security, but with a public school you can get up to 700k as loan from the 70k salary. This is after confirmation of appointment,usually after 2 years of working.

My advise is that government job is far better. In government job there is promotion and increase in salary. In government job there is retirement benefit after 35years. In government job there is job security. Do not look at the money now look at what you will benefit over the years.government can't just sack you but private can wake up and say population in school has reduce so their for the will reduce the workforce and you can be one of those that will be sacked.pressure from private school too much.

Go for government, the salary might be small to compare with the private..

But With government you will have the whole time and can equally go for extra moral teaching where you can even earn more than extra 70k a month, you won't have that time in private school.. Even if you don't want to do extra moral lesson you can start up small business to support yourself..


There's security with government work, unlike private you don't know what will happen at your place of work tomorrow..

What is there about job security when you’re paid N50k less? So in a yr, you’re 600k richer? Why dont you set that 600k aside like in a fixed deposit or buy treasury bonds? In 5 yrs, that 600k/yr would have turned inN5m. The job security is you and your skills to monetize your skills so that people see value in paying you N40k for your time. Government teachers receive salaries based on level, not the class you are teaching...

A level 14 teacher teaching in SS3 earns the same salary with A level 14 teacher that is teaching in primary 2.. That is how government operates.. ( Nigeria Union Teachers)
