A disturbing video has surfaced depicting a father allowing his 11-year-old son to pilot their private plane while he consumed beer, shortly before a tragic crash claimed their lives.

Brazilian authorities are currently probing whether this incident occurred just prior to the fatal plunge that led to the demise of Garon Maia, a 42-year-old rancher, and his 11-year-old son, Francisco Maia. The crash of their twin-engine Beechcraft Baron 58, valued at $1.2 million, transpired in a forest spanning the states of Rondônia and Mato Grosso on July 29.

The exact posting date of the video on Garon Maia's social media remains uncertain. The footage showcases Garon Maia sitting in the co-pilot seat, instructing young Francisco Maia on plane operations as it sped along the dirt runway.

Tragically, Ana Pridonik, Garon Maia's wife, succumbed to her grief and took her own life following their burial.

The incident raises questions about the circumstances leading up to the crash, with authorities delving into whether young Francisco was piloting the aircraft before the tragedy.

Garon Maia and Francisco Maia were laid to rest on Tuesday. Subsequently, Ana Pridonik, aged 27, was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in their home's bedroom after the burial. She was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where she passed away.

Amidst the heartbreaking turn of events, the Research Center for the Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents is conducting an inquiry into the crash's cause.

Notably, Brazilian law mandates that airplane pilots be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma, and be registered with the National Civil Aviation Agency.

The video captures Garon Maia saying, "'Wait, everything ready? Nothing in front, ok. Come on, 600 horses, you can push. 600 Kikão, go,' he says. 'Good lady. Hand on the lever, hand on the lever. Keep your hand there and look at the speed.'" Moments later, he is seen drinking beer and asking his son if the passenger can also have one.

The aircraft took off at 5:50 pm, crashed eight minutes later, and disappeared from radar.

Following the crash, rescue workers located the aircraft wreckage on Sunday, a day subsequent to the accident.
