DesChyko:it's a very simple thing. Remove the meter and mount it at the point of entry point of Wires. That's a very simple thing to do. No need of breaking any wall. 1 Like 1 Share |

What's the point of bringing it here. Why don't you just visit their office for clarification and sort your things out. Rubbish from the top draw. |

To prevent structural defect to the building, You can let electrician help you cut the wires at the point it enters the wall and join with another wires to length enough to reach the meter terminal. Such that the wires can be seen physically from pole to meter terminal... It is statutory requirement. |

DesChyko: That wiring is very wrong. How can the wire from the pole enter through conduit pipe then to prepaid meter. You have the option of bringing that wire out or installing the prepaid meter outside before where those wires entered into the conduit pipe. Their fear is that you can bypass the meter and be using light free. So do as they said. They are right. |

abuhusna1: Not for this type of meter. The keypad for entering the token is on the meter itself so it needs to be in a place where it is reachable but secure from tampering. |

chukkystar: Nah. That was the second option. I'll rather just run the surface wiring and save myself the time of having to search them out. They have unhindered access to where the meters are everytime they come around. If they detected an issue, they'd have mentioned it earlier. |

nextstep:When he calculates the multiple 10k he will pay..it will be cheaper to just leave the meter running without bypassing.. |

I think the have monitored your consumption rate and for them it doesn't add up when compared with others within your vicinity. Assuming there is no bypass like some persons here suspects, your brand of meter ( being old gen digital meter) runs low when compare to the newer type now. Knowing you might not want to break the walls the option open to them is to cajole you to change the meter to the newer brand. I will advice you move your meter to the point of entry pic2 to allay all suspicion. |

When you use prepaid Meter, you can't pass load cables through conduits, it's not allowed, bypass can take place internally. So if you are sure you have not bypassed light, let your cables be visible outside. |

When there's disconnection around an area, power is restored mostly the load/ consumption at that moment is reduced and it'll enable the marketers work especially on prepaid meters to know which ones are still functioning properly Digitalwitch: |
