Much ado about nothing!! The issued statement makes a whole lot of sense within diplomatic circles.

Like it or not, he remains a citizen of Nigeria. The issue at hand transcends petty denials and silly exonerations. He committed a crime and he will pay for it. It's better for Nigeria as a state to accept it and follow standard procedures rather than play the ostrich!!

I do admit the bit of "stand by our nationals" may have come out wrong!

Sagamite:

Use your brain if you have one.

Is it the same government?

Who are "they"?

Start using your brain to realise different governments have different philosophies and policies.

This is similar to the moronic arguments you get from illiterates when they say "Oh, America did this in the 70s or 80s, so why are they doing different now".

HEY WATCH IT!!!!!!!!
Dont go arounding throwing insults on pple u dont knw
"Use your brain if you have one". tongue like u are doing now, shebi!(mtscheewww!)

If at all you know what the "act of war"means the minister wont be making such reckless and stupid statements on tabloids.
If that bastard had successfully detonated the bomb and murder children, women and men,Christians ,Muslims,Hindus and what other religion group were on board, that would have been an act of war cos its directly on the US air space.
Then im sure bros Jonathan and lamido would be sweating and pissing SERIOUSLY in their panties cos the full weight of the american government would be behind a RETALIATION BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY against Nigeria and not just Northern Nigeria.

Would the fool then still have the audacity to come out and say HE, not me or any other reasonable Nigeria for that matter, would still stand by abdul muttalab.
By the way, where was this minister when tochukwu and others caught for drugs or other offenses in asia and mid east were about to be beheaded or hanged?.

He is a Nuisance for all i care.

He got the attention of nigerian govt because his father is rich and most like corrupt in nigeria. We know how it works in naija, that it is about IM(IMA MADU) That guy is a product of fundamental ignorance that nigerian system epitomizes, the ignorance that cut across the elite, the rich, the poor and what have you.

There are so many peaceful Nigerians in need of help. "Ashiru" a yoruba boko-haram should stop disgracing us.

Whatever stand he wants to give this guy. He should get the money from his father.

Is it because his father is rich ?

Useless and clueless unambitious dismal misfiring government official.

Did Saudi stood by Osama who murdered 3,000 people in America?

You are an illiterate. Another Jonathan mistake! An hausa man will not come out and say that

Is being a cretin hereditary in your family? What is the meaning of Yoruba boko haram? You obviously thought Ashiru was a muslim, that's what bigotry does to the brain.

What gave you the impression that he is acting in personal capacity and not as Nigerian official?

What is this bogus cry about "bigotry"? Whenever someone does not share your idea, that person is a bigot.

Whatever or whoeven he is, i dont give a puk. Be it muslim, babalawo or christian. Who cares ?
What we are saying is, it is absurd for government of official to come out and say he support a terrorist because of blah blla blah.

His name is Gbenga. Does that sound like an Igbo name to you ?

Iranian capture in an assasination attempt in US this week, did Iran come out and say. He is our citizen, therefore we shall stand with him.

If USA do the same to Nigeria or another country do the same to Nigeria, are we not going to be angry ?

Nigeria should be ashame of him and not associate with a backward barbarian.

Some, their sense of logic and reasoning is wack.

should not let the us government hear about this
how can you say you are standing by a self-confessed terrorist
are you now saying that your country supports such barbaric acts?
if you want to help him, instead of declaring that you are standing by him, just quietly pray for his soul

Whem these fellows say and do things as ambassadors they do so on behalf of not only the government but the peoples of the country they claim to represent.
I can't see why he can't see the negative cost/benefit. If he was attacked by pesky reporters, his diplomatic training should have simply sealed his lips.
